motherboxing replied to your post āI admit it: I donāt like seeing photos or videos of naked people...ā
Uh... this isnāt about whether or not itās politically correct to be uncomfortable with nudity and I think you know that?
context needed. I made a comment elsewhere:
Iām not anti-porn but every time This Thing happens people are screaming about the injustice and Iām like⦠calm the actual hell down, you will live if all the internet doesnāt have porn on it
and I got dragged for theĀ ānot anti-porn butā part by someone who made a lot of good points about how I was being inappropriately flippant about a rather serious issue that affects a lot of marginalized people. (by the way, Iām not linking to the post because they asked that it not be reblogged and I figure that covers linking as well.)
hereās the thing: one of the major arguments is āwe need this particular freedom of speech because of the positive effect it has on marginalized communitiesā and I'm basically sayingĀ āI still donāt want it here because Iām personally uncomfortable.ā believe me, Iām aware thatās not a good look! and I donāt know how to fix it!Ā
what I think I mean byĀ āpolitically correctā is that Iām so muddled up by my personal feelings and the politics that Iām genuinely not sure of the right answer, but I do know whatās regardedĀ as the right answer by my dash, which is not the answer I have.
