Both shows are focused heavily on the main hero being their own worst enemy in the current seasons. Oliver seems to have moved past that at least a little, but let's talk about the Flash. Oh Barry... I have to say, they're really good at symbolism. In the scene where Savitar was revealed as Barry, they made him seem like a dark reflection of Barry, most evident when Savitar steps into the scene, with his reflection in the puddle. Most recently, it was Barry's hair and choice of outfit during the heist that caught my attention. They made it seem like he was becoming Savitar, especially when he has to decide whether or not to leave Snart. He wore the same jacket!!! His hair had the same emo look!!! Ok...I'm done on that subject. Since the start of the season, they have been foreshadowing a dark Barry. "Now who's the villain, Flash?" "You've got this good guy routine thing down, haven't you? And everyone just buys it." "Kill or be killed" "You didn't just recruit me for my skills as a thief, did you? You wanted a partner who wouldn't mind if you got all murder-y" "Or, you can go ahead and kill him and prove what a badass you are" "This is your chance to show how ruthless you really are. Sometimes you gotta make the tough call, Barry" "Always known you had the potential to be as ruthless as they come. Your history made sure of that" So, with Barry "With nothing left to lose", he's going to throw everything in this next fight with Savitar. He's likely going to do the one thing he usually wouldn't do. I think he'll kill Savitar. The next season may be a bit darker. As Savitar said in the last 3 episodes promo "You kill me, you become me. Either way...you lose Barry"
