when doing the major arcana for the deck, i got the idea to decorate the "larger royal family" as it were (ie danny, jazz, the clones, dan, tucker, sam, and the ancients) with headpieces. halos for the ancients (with the same color as representing them on The Star) and crowns for the kids.

in my original concept, flowers sort of symbolized humanity, or maybe liminality, and so all liminals would get flower-based crowns. but it kinda ended up sounding more right to me that the flowers would just be for the main, more human gang, and the rest would have something less biological. previously, alongside the flowers already on dannys canon crown, i added living ones (maybe vaguely hellebores-inspired?). tucker wore a nemes patterned with wheat, jazz had a headband with a pomegranate flower, and sam wore a flower crown/wreath with the other three's plants, as well as some purple flowers and leaves.

this time, I decided the clones n dan would get headpieces using a stone centerpiece (and that way, dannys crown having some glass/stone elements looks like theirs, too). theyre no particular stones... well, except dan's, which is carnelian in my head. dustin's might just be ice. the symbols on each of them represent their associated ancient (a portal for nephthys, a compass rose for soujourn, a feather for pandora i guess whatever, lunar phases for nocturne, eyes for fright knight again im just kinda making this up, and a snowflake for frostbite. i guess this means i should scatter smoe glass gears around dannys crown, which isnt quite canon but whatever

for the other crowns not shown here, im specifying dannys crown flowers to be small poppies with petals in different shades of blue (which is the first kind of flower that was described in his lair), tucker keeps his nemes but it has blue and white lotuses blooming out of it (both being common treasures and votives in ancient egypt to my limited research, with blue lotus especially associated with funerals, rebirth, and the rising of the sun), and sam's flower crown being lots of different kinds of grasses and maybe boughs with violets (specifically viola reichenbachiana) scattered in. jazz's is pretty much unchanged, a headband with a pomegranate flower. not sure if i have a better idea for her lol

these appearances and outfits are not entirely but very much based on mar's art of them, specifically this old truce piece!
