Mortal Raiden Headcanons
Adjusting to mortality is... difficult for him. without his godly body, he has learned that his eyes are not as great as he had previously thought. Liu Kang has gotten him glasses to wear, but does not enjoy it very much.
Raiden begins to experience mood swings, finding himself rather depressed with his newfound dependence on others. He his a rather proud man, and at times, will refuse help even if he knows he cannot do it himself.
Raiden’s first cold is devastating. He knows how sickness normally works, but has never gotten sick until today. His energy is non-existent, but his monks are happy to help him heal as quickly as possible.
Along with colds, he knows the pain of aging quickly, suddenly going from a 2000+ year old god to a 60 year old mortal man within minutes. His muscles ache, his bones do not heal immediately, and his energy depletes at a wildly fast pace.
Food is incredibly appealing to him, now. Raiden eats like a man starved, favoring traditional Japanese food, and American food most.
Raiden laughs a lot more, as well. without the weight of the world on his back, he has time to rest and relax unlike before. He sleeps, and dreams, and enjoys every moment he spends curled up warm beneath the blankets.
Raiden has also noticed his attraction to other humans being more prominent.
He’s never thought of it before, but he thinks all of the time about how he is aging now, realizing it by the wrinkles on his face growing deeper, and the bags beneath his eyes growing darker. He sighs, noting also how his waist has grown soft, and his muscle tone is waning. He wonders if he will still be allowed back in the heavens once he dies.
