Legundo is tired. More than he expected.
This world was tiring in general, of course, he knows that. At the start it is ruthless, requiring your every second to fight to stay alive. The cold, the hunger, the thirst, the monsters — anything can be your opponent, everything wants you to stop.
But this time is special. Because this time Legundo found someone, who he doesn't actually need to fight, and they don't fight him either.
And that's why he is tired. The most tired he ever felt on the first day, actually.
Legundo is not a talker. He is anything, really: a fighter, a builder, a goddamn mess, but not a talker. There was no one to talk to. So when he meets these people — really weird, really distressed by him, but really freaking REAL people — he has so many thoughts in his mind that he might combust. He wants to say everything, he wants to tell them about the horrors, he wants to ask them why the fuck are they in the eternal winter woods, and trying to say all of this at once just sends him into panic mode.
He doesn't say anything apart from some screams that sound more like commands. He doesn't know how to articulate the danger they are in, he doesn't know if there are words for anything that he experienced that anyone would understand.
He tries anyway.
They don't understand.
(But they are here, and they are listening to him once in a while, and that's a win, you hear him? That's a damn WIN.)
Legundo is cold.
He forgot about this feeling, this rumbling in his chest and this constant shiver in his spine. It's not new, but it's lost to other infinite rules for survival in other worlds. He needs to return in this mindset, in the brain of an alpinist that didn't have time to think, but desperately needed to, so he found other ways.
This feeling doesn't matter, because right now, he is not the only one experiencing it.
They sleep in front of the campfire, breathing steady. They sleep, and Legundo is happy that at least someone is able to. He watches them for some time, then he watches the windows. He protects their calm, their (for now) innocence. He is a ghost in these walls, but maybe he can be their guardian angel. From one room to another, from windows on the first floor to the ones on the second, restlessness in his bones keeping him up.
"You know, mister know-it-all, you are really annoying."
He nearly jumps when he hears it: Viking is awake, probably because of him. Oops.
"Sorry, just trying to watch out."
"From what?"
"Zombies, ghosts, I dont- it can be anyone, really. Although it is a quiet night."
"Then sleep, goddamit. Or let me sleep."
Legundo chuckles, "Better me than monsters."
Viking is not laughing.
"You either lay down or we are having a conversion about what exactly you are trying to see."
Legs doesn't have any answer for this question, so this conversation would be meaningless.
He does lay down. He is not sleeping. But he inhales, then exhales, and then listens how Viking comes back to sleep. Good.
Legundo is not good at any of this. But he is the best at this. So it should work.
It's either death, or it works.
secrets kept, secrets told
“Do I need to know?” Nuke asks, and Viking finds himself laughing awkwardly — oh, yeah, they are still not-talking about that or something.
“I mean, yeah, I- yeah I guess you’d like to know that, it wouldn’t be bad to know about that!”
“Right. But are you going to tell me that?"
Or; Viking and Nukeri talk about some secrets. Or don't.
Happy Dominion SMP oneshot day.
I never wanted to be you.
Welcome back to Empty letters, a Legundo-centric oneshots collection! I have some stuff for you, and today on our menu is Eight and the Traveler in about 1000 words.
engineering colourbook
Usually, Legundo works with people running away, and majority of this group are older teenagers who can’t ride a car and don’t prefer an alternative of dying in an accident.
It’s usually NOT adults who ask him to drive their ten year old kid with a disorder to another side of the country.
God, it’s above his pay grade.
Or; on trying to not be a total jerk to a kid, projecting and running away, and understanding that you are not alone in your skull.
Happy sbk/dominion oneshot day. Or whatever.

come back wrong (being alright)
Chapter 2: take pity with silent words on your tin Christ
It's funny. Like, a little bit.
You can't unsee it when you actually notice it, alright? You can laugh. Pyro knows that his name being connected to fire but everything around him being in water is an irony of the universe. He gives you a pass, it's alright.
Pyro would also want to laugh if he could fucking breathe.
Or; Pyro wakes up. Pyro still dreams.
Nuke: I am a descendant of Icarus!
Youl, whispering to me like we are in a cinema: does he know that Icarus is the guy that like, very famously fell?
Anyway I just finished Nukeri’s Dominion and I am very normal and fine. Have a rough design and headcanons for nix crypta + a small snippet to a thing I want to write (I am still trying to find their voices, I think Viking is beyond my English comprehension and he is not even using any hard words)
It's 2:30 am for me. Have a stupid Deceit SMP text.
> Legundo POV
Loony POV
—
Cat is either dead or alive. When you don't look at it, cat is both dead and alive. That's it, that's all there is to an experiment, really, call Legundo a genius or something, he doesn't care right now. There are so many things to think about instead of a cat and a box and a thought experiment, right?
He is alone at their base, listening to the insects outside, a background buzzing of the swamp filling his brain. A sword in his hand feels heavy, but his chest is heavier: breath in, breath out, and try not to start laughing like a maniac because he is so tired and so stressed and he just wants to be back to the times when he could be with his friends and not think about anything, when he could leave them his back not batting an eye and trust them not to get a sword through it.
But now he closes his eyes, and Loony is both, simultaneously, his ally and a traitor. These options don't exactly exclude each other, they are not one and zero, but their overlap is concerning, and he can't really acknowledge this paradox, not now, not directly. It is here, and it burns, but no, he can't just pick one, even if it's better this way. The part of him that really wants Loony by his side, in his reach, paralyzes his mind, and says: "So what? You are here, and that's everything that matters."
Yeah, sure. Like survival doesn't matter. Like anything else doesn't matter.
When he opens his eyes, he knows Loony is a traitor. When he turns around to see him at the entrance, he knows he is his teammate.
Legundo is cursed with loyalty that will kill him. Legundo did it to himself, he got himself into the fire first, writing this unfortunate fate with his blood, and now he either burns and it is painful but warm or he burns and it is just slow.
Loony looks at him, and cat is either dead or alive except for when it's both, that's something that Legs knows for sure.
He hopes that Loony knows it too.
