it's a puppy dog world
Itâs Moritakaâs Summon Day!
Okay so I've been like getting into tokyoafterschoolsummoners hard as of late, so like could I request moritaka, Ryota and you know the summoners going shopping with Mc because she only came to Tokyo with the clothes on her back so they help pick out clothes that they think would suit her. It practically turns into a competition.
Glad to hear you've been getting into it! These were supposed to be the summoner's all going together but quickly turned into separate ones lmao. I did always wonder when the MC was able to get some more outfits so this was a perfect idea!
--------
Shiro
It feels as though youâve always been a part of the Summonersâ lives; which is why it is so easy to forget that itâs not the case, and that youâve got nothing to your name besides your phone and the clothes on your back. That is until Shiro runs into you on laundry day, decked out in nothing but your shoes and one of Ryotaâs dressing gowns waiting for your clothes to finish their wash cycle.
Heâs aghast, even more so when you nonchalantly mention that you really need to go shopping sometime - sure, you have your school clothes, and Mr.Mononobe gave you some essentials, but the sooner you have some actual substance to your wardrobe the better, especially considering youâll be here for the foreseeable future. With that thought in mind you tilt your head to look at Shiro, whoâs still fumbling for something to say about your current attire - or lack thereof - and ask him when heâs next free. Heâs grown up in Tokyo, so surely he knows all of the best places to go shopping? Plus youâd love the company while you try to find your way around - you could find some cute clothes together! Shiroâs saying yes before heâs even quite registered what it is that youâre asking of him, and youâre already working out the best day to go out while heâs trying to find the best way to offer you some of his clothes in the meantime without coming off as rude.
Shiro has no idea what kind of styles youâd like, but youâre not picky given your lack of options in the first place, so he ends up making a small list of different kinds of clothing stores in the area that the pair of you can look through together. It makes for a great day out - youâre excited at the prospect of adding some more outfits to your wardrobe, and youâve been meaning to spend more time together outside of the school and guild affairs. With so many options though, it's hard to decide where to start, or, more accurately, what to try on first; so you turn to Shiro for advice on what to try on.
A lot of his own style consists of turtlenecks, sweaters, and collared shirts, so most of what he picks out for you is in the same vein. He does overthink it too much, worrying that youâre not going to like what he picks out for you, but those fears are immediately quashed when you take them from his hands and scurry off to the dressing rooms to try them on. Youâre practically beaming by the time you emerge in the first outfit, spinning this way and that to see how it looks in the mirror till youâre dizzy and giddy. In all honesty, Shiroâs just happy to see that youâre so happy - heâs never considered how much such a little thing as trying on clothes could mean to someone whoâs got so few material possessions, at least he didnât till he watches you spin around to grab the next item off of the racks and rush back in to change.
The D-evils help you pick out some clothes too, mostly socks, which means that you end up with more than a few novelty pairs to your collection, but itâs impossible to say no to them every time they come toddling over with a new pair to excitedly dump into your shopping basket. By the time youâre walking out youâve got your arms full with bags, and youâre already wearing one of the sweaters that Shiro had picked out for you - youâd made a nonchalant comment that it just so happens to be in your favorite color, but Shiroâs already making a mental note for the next time he gets you a gift. You end up making some more stops to different shops together to pick up some more necessities you were running out of - hygiene products, toothpaste - as well as a few new decorations for your dorm room (yet another thing the little D-evils had picked out for you.)
Kengo
It doesnât actually hit Kengo that you donât have anything to wear besides what you came here with; he just assumed you were a stickler for wearing your school uniform, which isnât all too far fetched being a school student and all. Sure, youâd knocked on his door asking to borrow a shirt or some trousers a few times, but he hadnât really thought much about it, just thinking that you were putting off on laundry day. Heâs done it plenty of times - going through most of his stuff till he canât avoid the task any longer, so itâs not as though heâs going to bat an eye at the fact.
Next thing he knows youâre knocking on his dorm room door, not to borrow his clothes, but to ask him if heâs willing to come out with you to do some shopping. Youâre getting fed up with trying to live off of the bare necessities, and after getting some much needed allowance youâve finally got the chance and the means to go out and buy some things for yourself. And since you like so many of his clothes, you figured getting him to take you to the places he usually shops at was a good enough place to start looking for things to pad out your closet. Kengoâs not gonna be the guy to turn you down if you ask him to go anywhere; if you came to him wanting him to tag along with you out of all of the Summonerâs heâs not about to let you down and leave you wandering around with no idea where to go.
Going through the shops, you were picking things out from the get-go; since most of these shops are full of things that Kengo usually buys, so you end up constantly coming over to him with stuff to get his opinion on if they fit or not. He doesnât hesitate to help pick things out for you too, half-joking that he can start borrowing your stuff now as payback for taking his stuff all the time. Kengo figures that you wouldnât mind just having the stuff he usually wears, so he settles on things along that vein; these include tank tops, sweats, hoodies and jackets. By the time the pair of you are walking out of the first store, youâve got more than a few bags worth of stuff, and he thinks that thatâs the end of it; that is until youâre pulling him off to the next store not even seconds later.
Youâve never been so happy to see an underwear store in your life, and the second you spot it you're practically dragging Kengo with you, asking him to keep an eye on your stuff while you go in and pick some things out. Heâs left in the little hallway before the dressing room with your bags resting at his feet while he waits for you to finish up, and a lot of the other people waiting there give him the sympathetic âyouâre gonna be here a while, buddyâ look when he drops down onto a nearby chair and settles down for a long wait. He ends up carrying your bags for you even after you get out of the shop, shrugging off your attempts to take them off of his hands by waving it off as they barely weigh a thing to him.
He gets distracted easily - picking out clothes isnât the most blood-pumping activity, so half of the time when you turn your back to him, heâs going to be meandering to a different aisle by the time you turn back. It leads to a lot of running around, which works out for you in the end since you end up wandering into aisles and finding some nice things as youâre trying to catch up to him.
You decide to pay Kengo back for taking the time to come along with you by picking something out for him too. At first your plan was to get him something small and practical, something that you knew that he would like; but then you come across a set of cool leather jackets with a padded collar propped up in a shop window, and you couldnât yank him into that store faster if you tried. Heâs halfway through grilling you out for yanking him around when youâre clambering over to the display rack, whipping around with two jackets in your hand and shoving the one into his chest with a declaration of âQuick, I need to check if this is your size!â. Safe to say once youâre finally ready to call it a day youâve got more than your weight in clothes, along with two new matching jackets tossed over your shoulders as you disappear into the midday crowds.
Ryota
Ryota honestly feels really bad that he didnât consider the fact that you didnât have many clothes sooner. You hadnât even mentioned it, but he supposes that itâs thanks to all of the crazy stuff that youâve all been through that youâve put things like this on the backburner. Ryotaâs always been the person whoâd give you the clothes off of his back if you needed them, so the second he catches you lamenting over a tear in your only good shirt and realizes you donât have anything else to wear, heâs coming to your room with every spare shirt, jumper and pants that he can get his hands on. Itâs not a permanent solution, but itâs a good temporary fix until youâre able to go out and buy some things for yourself.
Which ends up being a lot sooner than youâd planned. Youâve barely even gotten an allowance from your guardian when Ryota comes knocking on your door with an excited look as he takes your hands into his own and asks you to come along with him. Turns out heâs saved up some of his own money so that he can go out and buy you some things of your own - and of course he wants you to come along so he makes sure that he gets things that you like! The gesture, while now moot thanks to your allowance, is ridiculously endearing, and you donât think you could turn him down even if you wanted to when you see the determined look on his face, his goal set on making good on his promise to help you out.
He knows quite a few good places around the different wards; heâs got a lot of friends who are either very fashionable or love to keep up with the latest trends, so heâs surprisingly adept at looking for places that he thinks you might enjoy looking around in. With that being said the whole time youâre walking around heâs trying to get you to tell him more about what you like and where youâd like to go - a trip is only fun when everyoneâs having fun going to places they wanna see after all, and he doesnât want to risk strong arming you into just going along with everything he says. Thereâs plenty of stops between clothing stores - no day out is complete without a good lunch date! It helps to take a breather from all of the running around and carrying things, as well as giving you two a chance to recharge with some snacks before moving on to the next place. Just be prepared for all of the âgetting to know youâ questions heâll be asking - you may not remember anything, but that means learning about the stuff you know now is just as important if not more! And Ryota wants to do his best to get to know you better.
Outfit đ Montage đ Need I say more? He loves helping you pick out clothes, and wants you to pick out things for him too! He wants to see if you got the same tastes in clothes, and is honestly really excited at the prospect of what clothes you think suit him. Every single outfit you come in earns a compliment from him - like how that color suits you, and how you look amazing in certain items of clothing. Coming from anyone else youâd doubt their genuity, but from Ryota you know heâs being nothing but honest, and itâs very easy to get flustered about it if youâre not used to being showered in such compliments. Be sure to give him plenty of praises too!
He picks out clothes based on what he thinks youâll like best, and those lunchtime conversations come in handy here - that chatter wasnât just for show! He tries picking something out for each season so that youâve got a balanced wardrobe, and gets very chuffed when he sees you put them in your shopping basket to check out.
Ryota ends up doing a fair bit of shopping himself - thereâs nothing better than treating yourself to a few things while youâre hanging out together. He insists on paying for some of your stuff despite your arguments that he really doesnât have to go out of his way to do so; in the end heâs so set on it that you end up paying for some of his things in return to make up for it, and the pair of you walk out with your goods. Does buying stuff together mean that thereâs more than a few matching shirts in your baskets? Hell yeah it does! And every time the two of you end up wearing the same thing later down the line it never fails to evoke chuckle and a pleasant reminder of your day out together.
Toji
Thereâs a lot of people that you can ask to come shopping with you - people who are arguably more well versed in picking out fashionable clothes or taking you to places with things that youâd actually want to buy. And out of all of those people, all of those that you call your friends and allies, you come to him. Tojiâs both surprised and not that youâve come knocking on his door so early in the morning, half-expecting some rushed explanation of the latest world changing catastrophe youâve gotten yourself wrapped up in. But thatâs not what you say, at least not immediately since you have to spend the next few seconds trying to catch your breath from running all the way to his home.
Once you spring back up, thereâs no such unexplained event to speak of, instead you stare him dead in the eyes and bluntly ask him to go out somewhere with you. That gives him pause, and heâs even more confused to find that you donât have any of the other Summonerâs in tow with you, which is an unusual sight in itself considering how youâre rarely ever seen without them. Heâs not trying to be mean when he asks why you donât just get someone else, but with the usual Toji bluntness itâs easy to come off that way. If youâre fazed it doesnât show however, as you merely smile that simple smile at him and say that you want to - plus whatâs better than some one on one bonding since you barely have the chance to hang out on your own together?
It surprisingly doesnât take much to convince him, and before he knows it Tojiâs following you through the meandering waves of people as you worm your way through the Shinjuku shopping district, having to be diligent so he doesnât risk losing you in the crowds. Youâve got no clear plan in mind, so whenever you spot a shop that catches your interest, his only warning is the momentary pause before youâre darting in its direction, thankfully remembering to tug him along with you as you dip into one store after another.
Tojiâs never seen someone look so excited at the prospect of pajamas before - to the average person it seems as though itâs such a small, insignificant thing to get happy about. And yet here you are, beaming at him over the clothing rack as you hold up a set thatâs caught your eye and excitedly ask what he thinks. His answers are mostly non-committal for the most part, as he doesnât want to sway your opinion, but he ends up getting dragged into your decision making anyway when you ask him to help pick something out for you. Heâs in his right mind to make an excuse to get out of it, but then you so casually mention that it would mean a lot to have something that he helped pick out for you, and just like that his eyes are glued to the clothes racks, taking this task oddly seriously.
Okay, Toji may be more than a little old fashioned, but heâs at least got some idea on the kind of things that youâd probably like to wear. Still, most of the articles of clothing he finds himself wandering over to are mostly formal and practical to move around in, and it takes a few blunt comments about needing some more casual things for him to break away and look around the store some more. He eventually settles on distressed jeans, a shirt and a denim jacket with a nondescript pattern embroidered on the back; itâs nothing like his usual style, so heâs not sure youâll like the outfit when he shoves it into your arms. But then your face lights up and you turn on your heel to run into the dressing rooms, yelling over your shoulder for him to stay put while you get changed; youâre still grinning when you exit back into the store floor, already so chuffed with your new outfit that Tojiâs hard pressed to get you out of the thing long enough to pay for it at checkout, exasperated but more than a little chuffed that you accepted his choice so earnestly.
Moritaka
Moritaka remembers well that he had to do the very same thing when first arriving in Tokyo. He too had only a few items to his name when the transient light brought him to this new world, and while it didnât take long to start collecting some material possessions of his own, he understands that you probably had no idea where to start looking for your own. It comes up in conversation not long after you became a student at the school, and youâre rather embarrassed to admit that youâve been meaning to go shopping for some more clothes - the sooner you have something other than your uniform the happier youâll be, even if itâs just some sets of underclothes and an outfit more casual than a stuffy uniform.
Never one to leave a friend lost, the therian is quite happy to invite you out to look around the stores with him when youâre next free - heâs been in Tokyo long enough to know the locations well, and perhaps having a friend to help guide you around would make the task a little less daunting. Heâs startled when you all but lunge over the table, taking his hands into your own with big, emotional eyes as you exclaim âReally, youâll help me?â While going out there and then wasnât exactly what he had meant by when youâre next free, however itâs hard for him to say no to you when youâre looking to him so earnestly for guidance, standing abruptly to your feet as you exclaim that youâll meet him by the dorm gate once youâve got your wallet.
His school uniform will always be an important piece of clothing to him, so it makes sense that he wears it often, but thereâs a simple joy to be found in having different options should the need ever arise. And that fact isnât more apparent than when heâs guiding you through the shopping district, having to be careful not to lose you with how often you pause to glance at the high rise buildings and heavily decorated shop windows that loom overhead as you pass by. Thereâs so many places to go, so many different stores geared towards humans and transients alike that itâs easy to get turned around, and the trips very quickly devolves from strictly clothes shopping to a general day out. Hell, the first place you end up pulling him towards is a food stand you spot while youâre outside, framing buying him some food as paying him back for his help to coax him into letting you treat him.
Moritakaâs been out shopping with his friends often, namely with Ryota as the boyâs always happy for a chance to get to hang out with the therian, so he relies on those past experiences to recommend places for you to check out together. Itâs clear that youâre looking to him for advice once youâve got free reign of the shop floor, as you periodically dart out from between aisles to show Moritaka clothes that youâd picked out, holding them up as you ask him for his opinion on if it suits you. This process repeats until youâve got a shopping basket full of items and itâs clear to see that youâre excited at the prospect of getting home to try them out as youâre speed walking towards the cash register without even trying them out in the dressing rooms, a spring visible in your step while you chatter about how you canât wait to wear more than just your uniform from now on.
While he does help you pick out some appropriate items, the one thing that catches his eye before you leave is the accessories rack. Thereâs all kinds of items like sunglasses, headbands, pins, earrings, and other small accessories, and Moritaka finds himself perusing the rack before he can think otherwise, eyes scanning over the different wares until something ends up catching his attention. Thereâs no mistaking that you look surprised when he comes up to you later with that very same accessory that he was looking at earlier, but Moritakaâs concerns over whether you like it quickly dissipated when that surprise breaks out into a beaming smile as you take the gift from his paws - and needless to say that he swells a little with pride whenever you incorporate that accessory in with your new outfits, the small meaningful item never far from you no matter what you wear.

Moritakaâs chocolate
"Happy Valentine's Day, Mr. Summoner. I'm not very familiar with this kind of event, If you don't mind, I'd like you to accept my feelings" Gift from Moritaka. A large white chocolate in the shape of a bone. The chewiness of the chocolate makes you want to eat it every day, even if you are not a dog or a beast yourself.
Unsolicited Moritaka Appreciation Post
Moritaka watching through Inuyasha with the reader because it amuses me and we're going to pointedly ignore that they're both dogboy samurai voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi
BROOOOOOO, INUYASHA IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ANIMES! Couple this with a best boi and you got some good times đ
Watching Inuyasha with Moritaka
You would have to bring up the idea of watching it to Moritaka first
Since Mori is usually wrapped up with training and school he doesn't think much of anything else other then working hard to achieve his goals
So this could totes be a way to allow the good boi to unwind and relax after a hard day of training
(Please, please steal him away from training, I feel like he's a high key workaholic, give him a break P L E A S E)
It'd most likely be on a weekends when you guys meet up to watch it
You guys get snack and drinks ready, a nice, soft blanket to wrap yourselves up in, maybe build a fort- who knows
And then you guys start watching it and after three episodes, Moritaka is HOOKED
The fantastical feet of it all, the characters, the plot- everything works like a well oiled machine in that series
I feel like he high key really likes to read and analyze stories so he's definantly head over heels in love with how smoothly everything ties into each other and the character developement as the story progresses
He gives it 10 doggie treats out of 10
He'd really admire Kagome, despite how many people gripe about her being annoying (which, like, point, she really can be), but he recognizes that she's a 15 year old girl in a land that's not her own and in love with a half dog demon who had a relstionship with her past self and is still kinda in love with her???? Like, damn, she's pretty fucking stable and level headed considering it all
You and him will talk about the story and the characters, just gushing about what you two love about it or what you wished would of happened instead
That being said, he'd be a little put off by Kikyo; he admires her character, but this isn't the real her and it makes him??? Really????? Sad???? Every time he sees her?????
Mori's got a big heart and it hurts him to see characters stuck in a limbo like that
He yells at the TV when Inuyasha is fighting anyone and he'll even do the motions to properly hold a sword- it's honestly really cute and you have a ton of videos on your phone of him doing it
You like to send them to Shino and Kengo
He was really ready to whole ass fight Koga when he kidnapped Kagome
You had to remind him that it's an anime and no, Mori, we, unfortunately, cannot jump through the TV-
BUT THAT WAS SO RUDE OF HIM, Y/N
And then later Koga grew on him and you two either had: a heated debate or a bonding moment over the fact he started shipping Kagome and Koga a hell of a lot harder then he shipped Inuyasha and her after he saw how much better Koga treated Kogome
Absolutely loves Sango, his mama was most likely a very strong and independent lady so, he sees a lot of her in Sango's character
Also she weilds a huge ass boomarang how fucking gnarly is that?
He is???? So smitten for Sesshomaru's character???????
Like, omg, a stronk dog, he's so COOOOOOLL- WHY CAN'T HE TURN INTO A BIG OL' DEMON DOG????
You bet your ass you're watching all of the movies
You two are kinda amazed by how similar Moritaka and Inuyasha sound (đ), so you start poking fun at him for that
You two, more often then not, end up cuddling in the couch
After you guys finish it, he'll rewatch it and recommend it to some of his friends that haven't watched it yet
It's a wholesome time
