No, Morion never really wanted to be a Haruspex or to have such a deep understanding of The Hive. It merely was the path he had went down naturally due to his experiences and orders in The War of Light and Dark.
He’d become one of Eris’ most loyal acolytes by the time Heresy took place, and so seeing her get run through by Ythix brought a deep seeded darkness and wrath that had been sealed away ever since Cayde’s assassination.
