OVERVIEW
Her mortal life is something Morganya doesnât wish to discuss. It is shrouded in mystery over a thousand years in the past. She simply claims sheâs been miserable for every second of it and resents her status as a divine.
Morganya curses the Spirit of Gaia for granting her immortality. She is known for killing herself over and over, only to be resurrected. Once she tried to make a creature so repulsive that Gaia would take offense and revoke her divinity, so she crossed a vampire with a silkbeast. The result was the arachne, a hideous and hostile monster that plagues the worldâs caves to this day.
Gaia welcomed this foul creature into her ecosystem with love, for it was eating overpopulated prey animals. Infuriated, Morganya went on a killing spree and murdered over twenty people before she was apprehended by the Evangeline Guard.
She thought Gaia would surely take away her divinity then, but Gaia only thanked Morganya, for the victimâs corpses nourished her soil. The divine spent three centuries in prison before she was finally released.
Today she wanders the world with a chip on her shoulder. She believes that since she has to be miserable for all eternity, so does everyone else, and she is known to construct tragedies from the shadows. Depressed people often worship her and seek her council, begging for the courage to end their own lives.
Everyone else treats her as a plagued animal and keeps their distance. Not once has anyone approached Morganya with the intent to make her smile. What would happen then?
TRIVIA
-Morganya is a prominent character in the story âDivine Executionerâ.
Why did the people of Evangeline ever ever release Morganya? Why not imprison her forever? Are people not concerned with the fact that she killed ten people and can do it again?
I donât know why I didnât see this pop up in my asks, sorry if this is a thousand years too late! Tumblrâs messages have been extremely buggy for me.
Anyway they imprisoned her for a few hundred years, which is standard protocol for their justice system. Now normally a killer would die in prison after all this time, but because Morganyaâs a divine, she just had to endure the whole sentence.
In the interest of honoring their own system, she was let go and it was assumed she would have learned her lesson by then. And she didâŚkind of.
Morganya hasnât murdered anyone sinceâat least not directly. Instead she goads people into killing themselves, forging misery while keeping her hands free of blood. Evangeline Kingdomâs laws are really slippery in cases like these, so she remains free.
