A bird is flying above the surf, floating still in the morning light, as an indie movie director walks along the water debating if his new mellow dramatic adult teen drama is going to be a success. Smoking a cigarette he pauses for a moment and watches as the sun rises while his cig’s cherry climbs towards the filter. His wool beanie has become damp from the coasts humidity. The cigarette ashes itself all over his chin as he drops to his knees and realizes the soundtrack needs to be better!

No worries dude! That is why bands like Sea Birds exist! Banjo, guitar, piano jams that are accompanied with super beautiful vocals! There Are Things To Come I Can’t Imagine is the perfect soundtrack to another movie starring Lou Pucci as he runs into the sunset and looks back as his much older one true love lets him go so he can “Live His Life”. Lets just say these songs are delicate, fragile, tender, pretty, and are nice to hear for a change as they come across as quite genuine. Almost an ode to the best qualities Sufjan Steven's presented in his early days!

My favorite track on here is probably “Cloaks” which is a grand piano song driven by a metronome. It’s covered in tape fuzz which melts with the piano sustain just right for this beautiful nostalgic feel. You can almost feel the 16mm whirring!

I also like the way the guitar is produced on here, it pans around in headphones really nicely and feels like you are encased in this soft bedroom with animated wallpaper. Serpentine, the last song on the EP is a simple little duet that is quite nice and reminiscent of the most precious Plan-It-X recording artists.

In the end this is a very pleasant EP released by Austin based label Haute Magie. It’s guaranteed to get you a Sundance film festival win if you want it. The tape is beautifully packaged and pro-dubbed! How bout that! Limited to 125 copies, grab one while you can!

believe me when i say i can't be undone or left like pins or things you can't keep track of like the small birds i'm untaught, i know no chances in deep snow in newer gusts i linger on like dust in corners i succumb, a weaker fire shiver me away like fog across a mirror i will coil away like last of morning breath sometimes i am not so strong, a small indentation in the shore i won't wear away from waiting, i will stay unfought and never known.

everything will change in clocks and hands, our twisted spines left crying and untied i know everything is kept alive in warmer words dispersing all the time. and how will i know you while you disappear, you disappear, you disappear
