There's more than one way to skin a cat, my father used to say; it bothered me, I didn't see why they would want to skin a cat even one way.

There is a saying that there is more than one way to skin a cat (more on this saying is available at: https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/there-is-more-than-one-way-to-skin-a-cat.html). I discovered that this is true even for the alphabet. For a long time, I thought there was only one alphabet song - a classic song I learned as a young girl in school (I found this version on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75p-N9YKqNo). I was in high school when I discovered there was another alphabet song. The song seemed official. I heard it when I saw a performance by the boys/males at my school (they sang the song and used their bodies to "sign" the letters - it was some sort of sign language). It was very interesting. I am not sure why the girls were not involved.

ONE OF MANY REASONS. Just the most cutest tho. At this mornings meeting I heard a very heart felt and alarming speech and it definitely reminded me of why I fight on a personal level. It’s bigger than just the construction of a telescope or access on to a very loved and sacred place. I got out of the habit of doing thumbnails and exploratory sketches when I graduated. And while I still have had very successful artworks with intuitive drawing, I know I have been missing out to some extent on what i can do. So I'm trying harder to work thumbnails back into my art. Exploring position, movement and basic features can push artwork further, and allow me to look back and re-explore previous thought processes for future peices. Your first idea is not always the best, keep growing, keep learning, and be humble in your talents.
