Today’s chit-chat is about *commence drumroll*...The Moonstone! The moonstone is featured in Pock 1.2: “Empty Vessels” where the priestesses discuss their plan to defeat The Darkening.
The Moonstone is a prismatic crystal formed from mineral feldspar. Although it’s most known for its ivory adularescence, the moonstone comes in a variety of colors, such as rainbow, blue, silver, and grey. Additionally, the stone is associated with the element Water, the planet Moon (shocking), and the astrological sign Cancer.
Another popular name for the Moonstone is “The Traveler’s Stone”, referring to the superstitious belief of the stone’s protective power. Travelers at night and sea were advised to carry the stone to ward off negative energies, including mental afflictions such as nightmares and insomnia, and help them reach their destinations safely.
Other uses of the Moonstone include intuition, emotional healing, enhancing psychic abilities, getting in-touch with your feminine energy (that includes you too, fellas!), spiritual protection, and of course, connecting with Miss Mama Moon.
In “Empty Vessels”, The Behlumene plan to use the Moonstone as a vessel to harbor and alchemize The Darkening. Their use of the stone would fall under spiritual protection and lunar divination.
Fortunately, since most of you don’t have an earth-swallowing storm of darkness approaching your homes, you can skip all that. If you're interested anyway, try placing a moonstone under your pillow for sweeter dreams!
