Wof for the ask game? :3
Ship that you like the idea of, but hate the execution of
Now, this one is tricky for me to answer, because I am a canon girly, and I like all the wof ships pretty well, however I do think that Turtle and Kinkajou is a tricky example of this. Because I both enjoy them conceptually as a ship and enjoy the love spell conceptually as a plot device, but I'm not sure how compatible the two are. That's one of the reasons I am excited for Book 17--I hope they do something interesting with that.
Ship that you love the idea of, but wish it had been executed better
Although I love Blue and Cricket, I was very annoyed that in TFoH, Luna casually refers to Cricket as Blue's girlfriend, which implies to me that they got together offpage mid-arc. Like, I realise that, for example, we've got couples like Glorybringer and (potentially) Starspeaker, who got together in between arcs, so it makes sense that it was offpage, but for that to happen mid-arc was...frustrating.
Also, Moonbli. I love Moonbli, I think their dynamic is incredible, and although I don't dislike the ending of DoD the way some people do, the end of the book does a great disservice to Winter, which I feel also, by extension, does a disservice to Moonbli. If we could see Moon and Qibli getting a happily-ever-after, while Winter also gets a more convincing happily-ever-after (although I do like the fact that he works with scavengers that's fun), I think we would all be happier.
Ship that might have some problematic elements, but you can't help loving it anyway
Probably Glorybringer, although it is a stretch to say I love them (I do like them, just not with the enthusiasm that many others do)--there's the maybe-maybe-not age gap, the whole he's-an-assassin-coming-to-kill-you thing, there's a lot of 'problematic' elements. however. they are extremely funny.
Ship where they obviously love each other but also want different things, so it just hurts
I used to, in my checkered past, be a Sunnyflight shipper so I am very familiar with this concept, and as much as I love Starspeaker, I do think Sunnyflight could have been sweet.
Ship that seems to represent a really weird idea of the author's
I canβt think of any right now
Ship where you can't decide if you like it romantically or as friends
I do like Turtlejou, but for reasons listed above, I am also very cool with them just being friends.
Ship that you wish had gotten more focus in canon (can be either romantic or platonic)
My answer to this will always be that we should have had more Ripnami. More Riptide in general would be greatβI love every time he shows up.
