A different, but related hc is that RainWings are born with their adult fangs, they look big on young dragonets but they eventually grow into them

What a fascinating headcannon! This isn’t really proven in the books (never has been mentioned or hinted at) both are very plausible. We don’t know how much animus magic messes with the users genes when transformed, but we do know it does to an extent as Peril and Sky don’t have any mentioned Rainwing traits. It’d be really neat if the magic left some residual traits like longer tail and venom less fangs, it could be because Chameleons spells themselves aren’t specific enough.

And with the Rainwing fangs not growing out would make sense as it’s a very labor intensive process for the body to have to re-grow fangs like that repeatedly to keep up with the dragons growth through the first 7 years of their life. I’d imagine that their body stores resources to maybe re-grow the fangs for those stages in life if they snap or break, then as the dragon gets older it doesn’t have enough energy to re-grow them.

Legends and Winglets are affected too, which means Fathom and Wren have to relinquish their protagonist status to Indigo and Undauntable. This also means Tsunami is the only DoD who straight up doesn't get a book.
