this character's wiki lists him as in a relationship with a female dragon, but according to the comment section on the fandom wiki, there was a word of god interview/commentary that says he could have ended up in a relationship with his male best friend instead. I'm not sure if this can be counted as confirming he isn't straight or if it merely indicts that in another version of canon he might not have been straight.

Qibli’s pose on the cover being extremely similar to Winter’s cover pose is honestly amazing
I’m not even meaning it in a Qinter context. The similarity works as a way of symbolizing Qibli’s desire to be great but feeling incredibly insecure about himself; by making him mimic Winter, whom Qibli describes multiple times as looking much more “heroic” than himself.
I’m not sure if that was an intentional decision on Mike Holmes’s part or not, but it’s still a fun detail regardless
