24 - Favourite Third Generation Flagship - Jinouga/Zinogre. Jinouga’s appeared three times already lol, I like him a lot. This idea occurred when I was thinking about how Jinouga are giant dogs, and dogs stereotypically like chewing on bones, and some of the earlier weapons and armour you can get are just shaped bones.
23 - Favourite Second Generation Flagship - Narugakuruga/Nargacuga, flagship of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G/Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. He scared the hell out of me when I first encountered him lol, I just saw him as a swift demon in the trees. This one’s found a little dark coloured melynx and thinks it’s a baby naruga.
21-22 - Favourite Weapon Type/Specific Weapon - Long sword/don’t have a specific favourite. I mashed these two together due to a couple of reasons. I would have done it yesterday but was having some issues so nah. I’ve been hunting with the long sword since MHFU and I love it so much, everything about it is beautiful and amazing from the animations to the blades themselves. I am also very fond of the light bowgun, insect glaive, and dual blades(and also trying to master the great blade and hunting horn but, not a whole lot of progress has been made) but the long sword will always be my main weapon. I don’t have a specific favourite, but I love all narugakuruga and tamamitsune equipment. For specific long swords the alatreon, raizekusu, lagiacrus, and barufaruku swords are also all very beautiful.
Thinking about what to draw here did remind me of the first time I encountered furufuru/khezu though, because I remember being so creeped out by it that I was grateful for my long range so I wouldn’t have to come into direct contact with it very many times. Although of course, that was back before riding was a thing, so the only direct contact I HAD to do was when I was carving it. But nowadays I have to sit though clinging to that squishy back and stabbing it... Giginebura/Gigginox actually creeps me out more now though, because I think its belly looks like freshly sliced maguro sashimi.
18 - Favourite Frontier Monster - Harudomerugu. I’ve never actually played Frontier (yet) so I don’t know any frontier-exclusive monsters, so to find this one I just looked through a big list of them and it caught my eye. It looks like a flower made of knives, like it might be related to barufaruku.Â

17 - Favourite Variant - Kontonniumeko Goa Magara/Chaotic Gore Magala. This guy's armour is almost as pretty as he is, and he's pretty damn goregous. (Pushed this back because last night I came home too tired and sleepy to draw it. Idk how well it turned out but he's looking in a mirror and smiling because he's finally got an eye exposed and can see his own pretty face.)
16 - Favourite Subspecies - Jinouga Ashu/Stygian Zinogre. This jerk gave me so much trouble when I first encountered him, but damn he’s beautiful. I miss him in MHXX but love playing with him in MHST.
15 - Favourite End-game Elder dragon - Arubatorion/Alatreon. I’ve loved alatreon since mh4u, and he wasn’t even in mh4u I just got the armour through trading materials and was amazing. When I first fought him in mhx he (literally) blew me away, and it took several hours of fighting him to finally bring him down. But the armour and weapons are SO worth it. His ability to control four elements still trips me up though.Â
(I’m pretty sure Alatreon is an end-game elder dragon, I haven’t gotten to play mh3 yet so I’m not sure. If not him then I suppose my favourite one is Gogmazios. Also haven’t fought either Alatreon or Lao Shan Lung in a while so not sure how well I got the scale down here.)
