It's hilarious sometimes. It's like do people honestly not get you are such a small fraction of this website. An even smaller fraction of the actual show fandom. Who do you speak for? Literally no one. And that's people on both sides tbh. You speak for yourself at the end of the day, people who agree can and do chime in, reblog their support, tag support etc, but still they only speak for themselves. Shameless is such a small fucking fandom in the great tumblr world. So small that we pretty well all know one another, first name basis and everything. A lot of us have become like family we are so small and tight knit. We have cliques all over the place and thats actually pretty awesome and unique to the fandom experience of tumblr. But I look at the larger fandoms I straddle and it's just all so laughable. The shit I have seen, read, had randomly pop up, discussed in other fandoms would turn your stomach. And I don't see anyone in those fandoms coming along and policing shit. It's fucked up what people will write about it is... But you can't stop it. Not in this great internet world. Sure you can criticize it. That's also the great tumblr experience. But the shit I see people losing their mind over in this fandom.... Especially toward fanfic/fan artist content creators.... It's baffling. Be critical of show runners and writers, cause their content is reaching millions and perpetuate some nasty things. But acting like this fan created content that reaches such a small percentage of the small portion of a fandom on one website.... Just come on people, larger picture here. This fandom is so narrow minded. Again both sides. I come to this website to explore the fan experience. To see peoples headcanon and interpretations that I will never get to see on TV or in movies. Sometimes that a trans* headcanons, sometimes that's cat people, sometimes that's shameless IN SPACE!! It's all over the board people cause our creativity is limitless. But with these amazing creations of new perspective you will always get the nasty and perverse. Trust me there is a lot worse content out there then you not feeling represented properly in this one fic. At the end of the day if you don't like something, don't fucking read it. If you don't like something then just stay away from it. Make your experience enjoyable cause anything else is just pointless.
