Webcomic Recommendation: Jenny Haniver
I have told some people about this awesome webcomic, but not everyone, so I am putting out this journal entry.
Jenny Haniver is a great webcomic drawn by Tumblr user monoceroy. Ein is a friend of a friend of mine from Tumblr and ein does great work.
This comic has been going on for 7 years, so it's a long runner.
The webcomic is about Jordan, who has a band called Jenny Haniver. They play progressive rock in the vein of Rush, Yes, ELP, etc. The comic is very slice-of-life, talking about Jordan, Jordan's friends, friends of those friends, Jordan's bandmates, other bands they tour with, friends of those bands, people they get to know, etc.
Loads of characters, kinda like Baccano or Durarara. (The tagline is "when you and your friends know way too many people). Most of the characters have gotten their times in the limelight.
The comic is very funny, and has lots of shout-outs and references throughout. It is kind of a gag-a-day thing, but it doesn't get old. Especially recently, the author tries to stay away from ableist language and other problematic thoughts.
What I really like about this comic is the GSM (gender and sexual minorities) representation. All nooks and crannies of the GSM spectrum are in there.
This webcomic reminds me of Questionable Content, in that the art is kinda meh in the beginning, but it has improved vastly over time.
I recommend, if you start reading this comic, start from the beginning, as you will miss a million characters and plot points if you do. If you like GSM representation, humor, and touching moments, go to the comic's website and start reading.
I cannot recommend this webcomic enough.

I just recommended the webcomic Jenny Haniver to a friend from anime club, and she said it sounded cool and will try to read it!!
I will use this post to recommend it to the rest of y’all as well.
It’s funny, touching, the characters are cool, and every nook and cranny of the GSM spectrum is in there. I’m surprised it hasn’t gotten more recognition on Tumblr, what with people wanting diverse characters and all.
That feel when...
...because of monoceroy's webcomic, Jenny Haniver, you start to internally refer to all nautical-themed dresses as "Wilhelmina dresses."
