The problem with listening to one German metal band that does a lot of songs in English but some in German is that now Spotify is recommending me some really good German metal bands but I also can't understand the songs for the life of me and now want to learn German even more than I did before but I know I am to exhausted to handle it right now but want toooooo :<
Anyways I have discovered I apparently like some metal but don't know how to test this past the few bands I've heard (Mono Inc., Eisbrecher, Valhalore) because I'm shy of trying new groups. If anyone has suggestions then I am open to them.
I've found that I love the instrumentation but am not a fan of rough/screamy vocals (some rough isn't bad but the very very very harsh isn't my thing), and in general I'm not a fan of romancy lyrics regardless of genre.
För mindre än ett dygn sedan släppte ett av mina favorit-darkrock-band Mono Inc ny video till sin låt "Children of the Dark" (2017). Metallvärldens We are the World, typ. Solklar #kvällensmetal
Music Shill of the Day
Who hears what I hear? Who fears what I fear? And pulls a left-behind?
Who lulls me to sleep? Dreamless and deep, Who’s sensitive and kind?
I’m losing myself, I’m losing myself, Here in my darkness. I’m losing myself, I’m losing myself...
[When the Raven Dies Tonight by Mono Inc fucking slaps. This song, and it’s Classic Counterpart (linked below), are both absolutely beautiful. The music video/lyric video for it is a nice video, very calming and atmospheric in a sense. Just a plague doctor on a stroll through nature.
The lyrics are beautiful, the vocals are nice and low and more somber, the instrumentals themselves are also very pretty and more low-key despite them still holding a lot of emotion within them.Â
Though I personally think the emotional aspect shines best in the classic version. The piano and the strings replace the metal aspects of the original. The vocals also feel softer, and a bit more powerful at the same time. It is an absolutely wonderful song, please go listen to it.
