That people are up in arms over what Armie SAID is beyond me. Look, he is allowed to ponder these ideas. We all are. That blog, or whatever it is- ohnotheydidnt- obviously has an axe to grind and is dog-piling on this current anti-Armie wave for some reason, because that is an older interview. "You don't find reasonable men at the top of large mountains" was in his Twitter header forever. So, it isn't like he has been back-peddling over this.
Who hasn't thought in the abstract like this? He hasn't worked with Polanski (and now, as the current climate is so volatile against this sort of thing) I seriously doubt he would.
He had a thought, he said it. Armie Hammer has no filter. He is a human being. It doesn't mean he condones the actions of Polanski, or Nate Turner (his point of that whole scenario is getting lost, too- Nate was UNFAIRLY targeted because he was black, we all know it's true) or Woody Allen (I don't want to hear it about Timmy, either.)
What he says IS true. Artists and actors generally pull from very dark places to do what they do. We all have a bit not good thoughts, and thank FUCK that the majority of us don't have someone recording them for posterities sake, to use as a weapon against us when we actually haven't done anything wrong. Judge lest ye be judged. As a human, Armie is allowed to express his THOUGHTS. I, personally, tend to judge a person's ACTIONS.
None of us are pure of thought and mind. If we were, we wouldn't be on Tumblr that's for fucking certain.
