Rezension: Bunny von Mona Awad
Inhalt:
Samantha kann die Bunnys nicht ausstehen. Eine Clique aus erwachsenen Collage-Frauen, die sich sehr speziell kleiden, sich gegenseitig nur ,,Bunny'' nennen und aus allem ein Geheimnis machen.
Eines Tages bekommt sie eine Einladung von den Bunnys und geht aus Neugier hin. Durch den Wunsch, dazuzugehĂśren, versucht sie sich ihnen anzupassen. Aber wie viel Anpassung geht zu weit?
Meine Meinung: Nicht Empfehlenswert (1/5)
Ich hatte echt hohe Erwartungen an das Buch, auch weil ich bis jetzt nur Positives darĂźber gehĂśrt habe. Es soll weird, creepy und doch spannend sein.
Leider empfand ich es nicht so. Dabei hat das Buch einen super Einstieg. Wir lernen Samantha kennen, aber auch schon direkt die sektenartige Bunny-Clique. Dabei ist der Schreibstil sehr bildlich, wodurch wir als Leser*innen schnell in die Collage-Welt eintauchen kĂśnnen.
Doch in der Mitte des Buches lässt es stark nach:
Auf einmal haben wir hier Fantasy-Elemente, wodurch meiner Meinung nach alles, was vorher creepy und weird war - gekillt wird
Schwache Protagonist*innen
Und alles ist nur noch sehr zäh - bis zum Ende hin

Bunny by Mona Awad #16 of 2022 3 stars . I canât put my finger on it exactly, but I didnât enjoy this novel. It was a great combination of Mean Girls meets The Craft, and well written too, but still it felt too much.
