It wasn't 1st, and it wasn't sub 10 but hard to be disappointed when you leave it all out there! Super happy with 10:13 a 7+ min IM Kona PR in which Madame Pele came out to play and the only reason I have a new Kona PR is because of my swim and run and not my strength - the bike! I actually think my bike time was the slowest it's ever been here 🙈You gotta love when you end up with a head wind in both directions 😂! I had a 5+ min swim PR in my @blueseventy swimskin, had the 3rd fastest amateur bike split aboard @quintana_roo_tri PR6 despite fading a bit, and closed with my fastest IM marathon in a time of 3:31. (I was on track for much faster but faded) Thank you @getdrcool for keeping me much cooIer all day! Sure I got passed 2x in the last 1.5 miles and I could be disappointed but I fought hard, went for it and just had nothing more to give - you can bet I tried! I'll give the proper thanks tomorrow but I can't say enough about the on and of the course support I received from so many of you! I am a few days behind on my blog but I promise I'll catch you up on the last few days of Kona pre-race madness after the race (if you are still interested in reading). For now, it's time to put my blogging and social media world on a brief hold as I get mentally ready for the big day! The work is now done and although the 365 days since last years Kona weren't perfect and I had my ups and downs, my final block of training has been strong! I was lucky enough to finish with my last big training week here on the island, and I really can't wait to get out there on Saturday! As always I am aiming high, and thanks to all my sponsors & supporters I know I have the tools to make it happen.
