This was sketched at Minami Ikebukuro Park. It's a relatively new park, in Toshima Ward of Tokyo. Out of all the areas of Tokyo, I am most familiar with Ikebukuro. The station is big, mostly underground, with multiple department stores. There's a 'park' nearby. I used to bemoan the lack of nice places to buy and eat lunch when I worked in the area, only to be told to eat at the park near the theater. On Google Maps, yes, it's green. Is there any grass? No. Minami Ikebukuro Park does have grass, although it's often off-limits to recover from people feet. There's a little sliding wall for kids, some other playground structures, a cafe that I think charges like 400¥ for orange juice? No, I looked it up, it’s only 300￥. Sorry. Anyway, it's alright, as far as parks in Toshima Ward go. As I was sketching this out there were a lot of kids chasing pigeons around my head. I didn't enjoy that. But they were having fun.. that’s all that matters right? There are some nice cafes around, though, including one of my favorite places to get anmitsu and coffee floats, Nagomi. So, yeah.
