@classicstober day 6: The Moirai aka. the Fates. Three goddesses feared by mortal and immortal alike. Clotho, who spun the thread of fate. Lachesis, who allotted each mortal their length of time on this plane of existence. And Atropos, whose dread shears cut each thread.

Sometimes the fates are depicted as beautiful goddesses, other times they are a trio of crones, in more modern depictions, it has become popular to depict them in the neopagan style of maiden, mother, and crone. I chose to give them theatrical masks to diversify them as well as give them a more mysterious appearance. For my design I imagine their faces, as well as the fates they deal in are unknowable to all… Even the other gods.

We've got Miss Fortune in conjunction with Rolan and Astarion, based on their post-canon life where Miss Fortune and Astarion will head up their own spy/assassination network, with Rolan working closely with them despite not being an "official" part of it.

The Moirai (or the Three Fates)

The Fates are part of Greek mythology, a trio of powerful goddesses who personify the cycle of life and destiny. They ensure every being - mortal, half-mortal, and divine - lives their lives according to their destinies and can even thwart the power of other gods in matters of enforcing fate. Their symbolism is heavily tied to the threads of fate spun from a spindle.

Recognizing this will basically ensure that you zoom in on Rolan, I encourage you not to - idk how this bug happens in photomode but he had eyes out of photomode and for the first shot, but then his eyes disappeared in PM after that. Don't say I didn't warn you lol...

Miss Fortune as Clotho, the Spinner

Spinning the thread of life from distaff to spindle. I cast Miss Fortune as Clotho because as a spymaster, they are the one weaving webs throughout Baldur's Gate and the Sword Coast, spinning rumours, forming networks, collecting secrets, all of which will serve as the threads of information that will decide fates. With the intel they collect, Miss Fortune has the power to topple dynasties, shackle tyrants, and silence malevolent actors. Or, conversely, to serve as kingmaker and lift up those who would lead responsibly.

Rolan as Lachesis, the Measurer or Allotter

Lachesis measures the thread of life allotted to each being. In the spy network, Rolan serves as an advisor and a facilitator, providing magical insights, procuring magical items and helping in myriad other ways. Depending on how well he performs each task, he's definitely measuring the time a mark has left ;)

Astarion as Atropos, the Inevitable

The cutter of the thread of life. As the lead of the assassinations side of their spy network, Astarion is the one determining who dies, when, and how. And while he may not be snipping threads with scissors, well, I assure you his blades and fangs are sharper.
