Equality Vs. Individuality
If everyone wants to be treated equally Why does everyone want to feel special? Nobody wants you to feel inferior but nobody wants you to do well. I want you to treat me kindly but I'll ignore the disrespect right behind me. We could treat everyone with respect or we could treat everyone like a suspect The only problem is If we treat everybody like this How do we know if love even exists? That's the problem with equality It takes away our individuality How can you say you want me to prosper And then take away any qualities I have away to offer? I want the same job, same look, and all the same stuff Until society comes along to tell me that it's just not enough. They tell us all our life we're valued by the person that we are Then we learn its all about what we can charge on little plastic card They tell us that our worth is justifiable means to treat someone like dirt Till we make it on the news, and become an open fuse If everyone should be treated the same What's the point of a name? If everyone has a purpose in the world Why is it so hard to be heard? Don't see me as a religion, don't see me as a race Just see me as a person with my own unique place I don't want my life to be some competition I just want to do what I can to be the best addition It's not just in my head Or the ones who wound up dead If I'm not the only one who's thinking this Why hasn't it made a difference?

please understand something I like to call social conditioning. most of us have been brought up in a household or family setting where we were not taught such values, or 'ways-of-thinking'. please, I ask you with kindness, do not grow angry because our sub-conscious has been conditioned with the standard social traditions, that before our generation, filled many majority cultures.
and remember, just because we make sub-conscious assumptions (that is damn difficult to avoid) do not make the assumption yourself that our conscious mind shares the same views.
