Examples of why “non-romantic” can be inaccurate when describing QPRs
There are QPRs that exist where:
At least one of the people in the relationship has romantic feelings, and at least one doesn’t.
At least one of the people in the relationship doesn’t distinguish between romantic and platonic attraction.
At least one person in the relationship has fluctuating romantic feelings, and they don’t want to change relationship labels day-to-day.
At least one person in the relationship finds that the split attraction model doesn’t make sense to how they experience attraction and desire.
Saying that the “platonic” in queerplatonic is means non-romantic as opposed to non-sexual is okay. But QPR’s as a whole are an entirely different relationship type from platonic and romantic relationships, though for some people they may overlap with another relationship type. They don’t have to be strictly non-romantic.
It is okay if QPR’s don’t neatly fit into the platonic/non-romantic box.
