We are very excited to announce our next event: Big Spring Duo Week!

To celebrate the arrival of Volume 2 of Aurora, we've aligned the dates up just before the book's release :)

This week is all about celebrating your favorite duos from the comic (whether they're platonic, queerplatonic, romantic, familial, or otherwise)! You can create for the same duo throughout the week or switch it up as much as you like!

Participation is by no means required, and you don't have to do all the prompts either! There are two prompts for each day just so people have a choice if one of them speaks to them more than the other, but you can also be a bit wild and do them all if you want to!

These prompts are also intended to be friendly to all mediums, be that art, writing, collages, crafts, playlists, and more! This is by no means an artist-only event :)

There is no time limit on this event either! If you find this far into the future and still want to participate in any of the prompts, you're more than free to do so! All we ask is that people wait until the start of the official week (Wednesday, 4/22) before they start posting their submissions :)

Hello, everyone! Thank you all so much for your support over the last year and with Duo week; it's meant the world to us! Now, we have a very exciting announcement about the next Big Bang: you can sign up TODAY!

Sign-ups will be open for primary applications until July 14th and for secondary applications until July 23rd. What's the difference between primary and secondary applications? Well, that only matters for our writers, as primary sign-ups will give you a due date of July 15th to get your writing pitches in whereas secondary sign-ups will have to turn in their pitches as soon as possible. Whichever works best for you, please do that! But don't forget to sign up before July 23rd if you want to participate!

This year, we're doing something new: we have an optional theme! Our theme is Seasonal Fun! Be it summer or winter where you are in the world, we want to see you showing off any Aurora characters you like having fun on an ideal vacation! Or you can make it an angst-fest! Like we said, the theme is optional in case there's something else that really catches your heart and mind.

Just like last year, we have a calendar! Use this to help you keep track of important dates throughout the event!

There are already links to the Discord server in our blog header and in the sign up sheet, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to put another one right here in case you want to join right away! The best way to get in contact with us is through Discord, but you can always send us an ask or an email too!

Hey, everyone! The Discord just got this announcement, but we wanted to say the same thing here on tumblr just so everyone gets a peek at the news.

Fic pitches are due by the end of the day (pacific time, GMT -7) on July 15th! The form will close and will not be taking additional submissions after 11:59 pm! That's only about 60 hours left (at the time of posting) to get your pitches in!

If you are not in the Discord yet or need extra time, please be sure to contact us or Mod Goggles as soon as possible! We are best reached through Discord (which you can find in our bio), but you can also send us an email ([email protected]) or an ask!

There is also still time to join the event, if you'd like to participate! Our join period doesn't end until the end of the day (pacific time, GMT -7) on July 23rd! The more the merrier!

One of the best things we ever did for our writing skills was take part in our first big bang as a participant where we wrote 12k in one month when our longest fic before that was only 8k written over 8 months. To this day, we are still incredibly proud of that achievement.
