I hold the position because historically we've been described as fair skinned blue eyed people. Through our long and dark history we've been conquered and raped by so many foreign races that we're considered closer to our oppressors than our ancestors. Similar to the Assyrians, Greeks,  Romans, and the Iranians who were considered to be the original Aryan or "white" people. 

I just want to be connected with my ancestors instead of identifying with their enemies.

Cool sentence. I can make those too. “Historically we've been described as dark skinned brown eyed people.” Wow look at that. And we’ve both provided the same amount of sources for our claim, so I guess its my word against his! Also, i’ve never heard of this in my life. However I have heard entire Armenian communities refer to blonde blue eyed Armenians as UNICORNS cuz they’re rare as all fuck. But if anyone can provide proof or a source for this claim i’d love to reconsider my stance. 

Additionally - it’s been said about twelve thousand times on this blog, but once more, white-passing =/= white, so fuck out of here with that. I know a fuck ton of Lebanese people who are more white passing then I am, and I’m pretty damn white-passing. But I bet you wouldn’t say they’re white.

Once again no source for this, but “so many foreign races”??? The Persians to the east and the Turks to the west. Thats two, where are all the other “so many”? Two is not “so many”. 

I don’t know if you pulled this out of your ass or you actually have some kind of (incorrect) source, but it’s factually the opposite of the truth. If what you say happened was true, the Armenian genome would appear as a mixture of all the “foreign races” that we had been mixed with. But in reality, Armenians have done so little “mixing” that our genome is very distinctively Armenian, with no significant “mixing” occurring after 1200 B.C. The genes we do share with other populations show that our closest relatives are not Europeans (like the Greeks or Romans you listed), but Shepardic Jews (Jews from the Levant), Cypriots, and Lebanese Christians. Armenians (and our previously listed ethnic relatives) are actually the closest (yes, that means closer even than arabs and turks) to the original indigenous populations of the middle east, NOT Europe. ~side note~ This genetic info also disputes curvesincolor’s bullshit lie that Armenians only have middle eastern features because we went around raping Arabs (which also doesn’t make sense geographically)

Firstly, Assyrians and Iranians are not white, so shows how much you know, and as to saying we’re related to Greeks and Romans, see the above point.

In conclusion, the anon who tried to call me out, the person who gave this dumbass reply, and curvesincolor can all suck my “most closely related to the original middle easterners” middle eastern Armenian dick.

@d-admir I don’t know the tone that you intended to convey with this comment but to me, it seems like you’re being an asshole who’s saying Armenians are white. To respond to your (very disingenuous seeming) question - no. People indigenous to the Caucasus ARE Caucasian. In fact, they’re the ONLY people who are Caucasian because “Caucasian” means “from the Caucusus”, not fucking “white people”. And seeing as most of the Caucusus is actually in Asia, it’s pretty fucking stupid to insinuate that “Caucasian” means white people. 

And if you’re about to come back with “but what about the caucasoid race, white people are caucasoid so they’re Caucasian”, congrats white people do have caucasoid skulls, but so do people from all of the middle east, India, and parts of Africa. Which makes us ALL Caucasian according to you, so even under these circumstances, again, Caucasian is not a descriptor for white people. And the next time I see someone use it as one im gonna blow a fucking gasket.

Yes! In fact another way to refer to the region that we call the Middle East is West Asia! So while we are not what usually comes to mind for most people when you say “Asian” we are in Asia and there for Asian

Arabs are one group of people from one area of the Middle East who felt the need to spread out as far as they could, pushing out the rest of the people who lived there first. You are not the “quintessence of the Middle East”, in fact, genetically speaking, the Armenians and Kurds you apparently detest so much are more closely related to the original middle easterners than Arabs are. Arabs are an important aspect of the Middle East, but still only one of several, and you sure as hell aren’t the “quintessence of the Middle East”. Hummus is closer to the “quintessence of the Middle East” then you are.
