I'm planning for Clear Sky to foist one on him, telling Sunlit Frost to construct something custom

How does it work? It doesn't. It's completely for Clear Sky's comfort. He wants him to be able to do a bunch of rear-up moves that require weight on both back legs and he doesn't want to look at his nub.

It takes forever to put it on in the morning. He's not used to having weight on that side anyway so it's awkward to have something dangling back there. He feels uncomfortable walking on it, where he can't feel where the peg hits the ground.

He keeps getting ribbed for being noisy, when it's all because of the stupid thing strapped to his flank.

So in the end, after leading Sunlit Frost a safe distance away from Sky's Clan, he chews right through the leather strap binding it to his leg and leaves it on the forest floor. He doesn't want to bring anything that belongs to Clear Sky across the border, especially not this dead weight.
