I'm in awe that there is no character analysis on this website of Marinette as having ASPD.
The only reason why she isn't hunted down by the police force of Paris is because part of her power set is to fix everything back to normal in the end, which fits the diagnostic criteria of criminal activity, she's directly responsible for the Eifell Tower being fucked over Every Tuesday.
She is a compulsive liar, who made a reputation of herself as a sweet quirky forgetful klutz, and that repeatedly "lies badly" on purpose so that, when she tells an important, actual lie, people believe her since "you can always tell when she's lying". Another diagnostic criteria met.
She is impulsive, and if it weren't for part of her power set to be able to magically scout her surroundings for tips and clues of how to fix whatever situation she finds herself in, she'd have been dead so many times throughout the show. Once again her powers exacerbate a diagnostic criteria by always having her find a way out.
While she doesn't get physical with people, she is extremely irritable, and, tying back to her compulsive lying, makes a show of it whenever she's mildly annoyed so that people never realize when she's actually pissed off, this pattern only breaks when she has her more severe breakdowns.
Once again, her power set exacerbates one of her other traits. She puts people in danger all the time. Not only has she recruited so many people, which could be considered putting them at risk, most of the time her plans involve putting someone in danger as bait, or for a more elaborate approach in taking down a villain. Most times, if it wasnt for her powers giving her a way out, they'd be dead or worse.
She is extremely irresponsible with anything that isn't directly tied to her superhero work. Everything else falls to the wayside if Ladybug needs to act, it's the plot of so many episodes how she will always prioritize being a super hero over her friends, family, loved ones, school, you name it.
Another big important thing, is that I cannot particularly remember a time where her empathy wasn't cognitive. Due to the nature of the villains powers, since negative emotions and experiences cause someone to be Akumatized, she often finds her villains inner turmoil as a Puzzle to be Solved. More often than not, she's unable to empathize with someone unless something similar has happened to her in the past, or when she rationalizes how it would feel for her if she was the one going through that. She repeatedly has fucked people over for her goals here and there.
Part of the reason why she hates Lila so much during her earlier appearances is because Lila does the exact same things she does. An extremely competent liar, willing to fuck people over for her own goals, not afraid of putting others in danger to get an advantage, with criminal tendencies, and extremely easy to tick off. (I think Lila falls more into the side of ASPD with NPD traits, while Marinette herself would be ASPD with HPD traits, but alas.)
Stepping out of medical territory and going to common experiences, she has difficulties with the feeling of fitting in, even if she is adept at socializing. Most of her social life is built on this clumsy persona she built for herself to be more likeable, when she is an extremely competent person. She often leaves social interactions either judging herself for Losing The Social Game or proud of herself for Winning The Social Game. She is hyper aware of her social life due to the fact that understanding of it isn't innate to her, and takes active effort to understand and perform.
I wholeheartedly believe that if it wasn't for the extremely adrenaline inducing activities of being Ladybug she would eventually get into some sort of extreme sport. And I'd argue that her interest in fashion, a widely known cutthroat industry, especially in France, is a form of thrillseeking. She puts herself in so many situations where she is seen visibly shaken after it regardless of if the outcome was positive or negative. This bitch LOVES being on the spot, she thrives on problem solving, she thrives on stakes, and once again, her powers and superhero persona only exacerbate this. She is so, so easily and extremely bored if something loses her interest.
And then there are her controlling tendencies. She needs to be in control, she needs to be the chief, the captain, the one that calls the shots. When someone else does, it's because she allows, it's because she gave them the power to, it's because she is willingly letting the spotlight fall unto them. She only ever trusts someone's plan if it's necessary for her own plan. So many times Chat Noir suggests a way to handle a situation, and instead of doing exactly as he suggested, she puts her own spin on it to call it her own, and gets constant gratification from Chat Noir about it. Their wins are not only her responsibility, but also her effort, and she deserves to call the shots, because it always goes well when she does. Here is another point where she Clashes with Lila due to the two of them being way too similar.
Your honor. This bitch is an ASPDling. Chat Noir is her bonded BPDling. I rest my case.
