En Mixquic, el Día de Muertos se celebra con la tradicional "alumbrada" el 1 y 2 de noviembre, cuando las tumbas del panteón se iluminan con miles de velas para guiar a las almas, mientras las familias se reúnen para convivir con ellas. La celebración también incluye ofrendas elaboradas con flores de cempasúchil y papel picado, danzas prehispánicas, música, tapetes de aserrín y la degustación de antojitos y pan de muerto.

today and yesterday we celebrated the day of the dead <3 and, for my experimental illustration class, I did a hand embroidery about Mixquic, the place where this celebration is taken to the highest level <3 people gather in the church cemetery "San Andrés Mixquic" to decorate the graves of their loved ones with flowers, candles, copal and other things <3 I also put in the illustration a representation of Mictecacíhuatl, the queen of the mictlan (aka the underworld in our prehispánic culture)
