En Mixquic, el DĂa de Muertos se celebra con la tradicional "alumbrada" el 1 y 2 de noviembre, cuando las tumbas del panteĂłn se iluminan con miles de velas para guiar a las almas, mientras las familias se reĂşnen para convivir con ellas. today and yesterday we celebrated the day of the dead <3 and, for my experimental illustration class, I did a hand embroidery about Mixquic, the place where this celebration is taken to the highest level <3 people gather in the church cemetery "San AndrĂ©s Mixquic" to decorate the graves of their loved ones with flowers, candles, copal and other things <3 I also put in the illustration a representation of MictecacĂhuatl, the queen of the mictlan (aka the underworld in our prehispánic culture)
