MIA: One hardcover book. Title: Stalemate. Author: Iris Johansen.
Hey guys! So I know I don't know a lot of people on here yet, but I was hoping you all might be able to help me out. On Sunday, January 20, 2013, I accidentally left my book on a train that was supposed to depart Penn Station, NY at 11:14 pm heading to Ronkonkoma. The train was canceled due to a pedestrian being struck by a train in Mineola.
I will admit, I left the train in a bit of a huff, not fully comprehending the reason why the train was canceled. But in my haste, I left behind a hardcover copy of Stalemate, by Iris Johansen. It's a black book because I took the cover off it. I didn't realize I left my book until it was too late.
I have been checking the lost and found every chance I can, but so far, the book hasn't turned up. ): I've been told it can take 4-7 business days for items to be turned in, so it's possible I just haven't waited long enough.
But just in case, I was hoping word could spread around on the internet as well. It may seem inconsequential - after all, it's just a book, right? - but, well, I was just getting to the good part. Not to mention Iris Johansen is one of my favorite authors, and I collect her books.
If the book isn't just MIA and someone happened to pick it up and take it home with them, I'm not upset. Like I said, Johansen is a great author! It's a great book! I hope you started reading it already. But, if you did happen to pick it up after I left it behind, do you think you could turn it in to the lost and found when you're done reading it?
I'm going to continue checking Lost and Found in hopes that it shows up. It would really be amazing if it does. But if you did happen to pick it up, and you're reading this post now, maybe you could send me a message and let me know? If you liked it, maybe we can even discuss some more of her books! I'd love to. You don't have to, but it would be great to know I have a chance of getting it back, if it's not already on its way there.
After all, like I said, I was just getting to the good part. :)Â
Thank you in advance to everyone who reblogs this.
