‘Toiles de Jouy’ simply means cloth from Jouy, a town near Paris. These textiles were all the rage in 18th century France, where textile makers borrowed methods of printing patterns on cotton used in India. They often included scenes of aristocratic daily life, but for this post we’ve mostly concentrated on some of the more abstract designs, and a contemporary interpretation of the style. The weekend is almost here and I’m super excited to have it off since this work week has really put me through it 😬. It’s been a couple years since I last went, so I’m super excited to return this year 🥰 . As for what I’m currently listening to, I’m usually listening to a true crime podcast (I’m currently working through the backlog for Morbid: A True Crime Podcast). However, now that Lorde AND Halsey have recently dropped new albums, I’ve been listening to them non-stop. The vibes are completely different between the two works, BUT they are both ✨immaculate✨ .
