just uploaded a vlog from plumtree, zimbabwe 🕊️🤍

it’s my first time attending a wedding in the village, and what made it so interesting is that this was the white wedding — but the traditional marriage process had already happened before this. i loved learning more about the meaning behind customs like lobola, ukangaziwe, ukulaya, and the munyai, and seeing how marriage is not just about one day, but about family, culture, and community too.

A little travel diary from Zimbabwe back to the UK.

This vlog was actually filmed a few months ago, but life became incredibly busy behind the scenes and I kept putting the edit off. I’ve been working on some really exciting projects, often doing 12–14 hour days, and YouTube ended up taking a back seat for a while.

But I didn’t want this journey to stay sitting on my hard drive.

Whenever I travel, I love sharing the full story — arriving, exploring, spending time with family, and eventually making the journey home again. So this feels like the proper final chapter of my latest Zimbabwe series.

This one is a long, slow travel vlog from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe to Birmingham, UK — airport moments, travel day reality, little thoughts along the way, and that familiar feeling of leaving one home to return to another.

Open-Fire Inopi (Isijeza) in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼🔥 

There’s something about cooking outside on an open fire that I can’t explain properly — the smell, the slow rhythm, the way the smoke clings to the food and makes it taste like home.

In today’s vlog I’m making inopi (isijeza) using ijodo (wild melon) / ithanga (pumpkin) and impuphu (mealie-meal), plus umxhanxa — that sweet, comforting combo of boiled dried maize + chopped yellow melon. After that, I take you with me to the grinding mill to mill millet + maize into the finest powder (because I’m taking it back to England for my sour porridge obsession 😭).

Bulawayo café morning → airport run 🌿✈️ Started at Verandah Café (Malindela) for calm verandah vibes and good coffee, then drove 25 km to BUQ to collect our delayed luggage—arrived safe and sound.
