All men existed within a female body before we functioned in a male body, so it seems obvious to me that there are less secrets to being male or female than we are trained to accept.  Because there is so much profit in the division of the sexes ... heterosexual divorce is a huge business, and so on ... babies calm down even the most strident political activists ... the social certainty is always marriage and children because this makes people easy to govern and easy to scare, whereas if we were all encouraged to be mobilized and unmarried social thinkers then we could no longer be controlled by politicians.  The fact that most people who marry actually step into hell, and the fact that millions of people are unmarried and perfectly happy, well, neither are images you’ll ever see on television advertising.

He's travelled a long way around, and by his look, he's never married, but always travelled, as some men do, crazy to change their scenery every week, every month, every year, until they reach an age where they find they are collecting nothing at all but a lot of empty trips and a lot of towns with no more substance to them than movie sets and a lot of people in those towns who are about as real as wax dummies seen in lighted windows late at night as you pass by on a slow, black train. He's been living with a world of people who didn't care about him because he never stayed anywhere long enough to make anyone worry whether he would arise in the morning or whether he had turned to dust.

A lot of the problem with homophobia & #misogamy in the comedy scene (racism too btw); has to do with all thise "image being offended by jokes" bros. So much gaslighting and using comedy as a shield to be a bigoted piece of shit. Saddened it's industry deep but not surprised

How many of them love each other? Not two in a hundred, I warrant. The marriage ceremony is their one miserable, petty, paltry excuse for living together. This marriage rite, it appears, is often used as a cloak to cover a world of rather shameful things.
