CUT TO:
man in a dark suit standing inside a telephone box. We hear a woman’s voice on the other end.
KATYA: Take care, Andrei. You never know when your time could run out.
We see the man just as hangs up the phone- His mustache quivers slightly - Man steps out.
Andrei Daddano looks at a slip of paper in his hand. It is torn, but on it is scribbled a word
GONCHAROV
Andrei Daddano looks up and down the busy street before disappearing into the crowd.
CUT TO:
A man stands in front of a desk in an office, on the other side, Goncharov sits with a cigar in his mouth. Goncharov takes a bite out of the cigar, chews it for a moment before spitting it into an open drawer behind the desk.
THE MAN: It is true then?
GONCHAROV: It is true, I am Goncharov.
The man stands still for a moment, fiddling with his hat in his hands. He is, however, not nervous but seething with barely contained rage.
THE MAN: Well then, Mr. Goncharov, may you pray to your lord that you will never see me again. I promise you, next time you will not receive such mercy.
The man turns to leave. He presses the button to call the elevator. It dings. Goncharov stands from behind the desk.
GONCHAROV: I do apologize, Mr. Gonartva. However, I don’t seem to remember allowing you to leave.
The man reaches into his jacket slowly. He had already called the elevator and stepped in but he turned around to look.
CUT TO: A grandfather clock on the wall ticks loudly, it shows the time of 2:59 pm. The clock strikes loudly just as two gunshots are heard. A woman’s scream follows after and we see Katya running to Mr. Gonartva (her father). He is already dead. The doors to the elevator close before she can get to him. She sees the killer disappear out of a door in the office.
