Election 2016 made me so emotional
This MIGHT be the first (and may also be the last) legit (like long and with sense and feelings kind of post) election/politics-related post that I am going to put into my blog. Please excuse me IF EVER I will use my local language in some parts of this post. So I begin…
Last midnight, around 1:30AM, I literally cried myself to sleep. I am not overreacting or what but I really did cry. Tears won’t stop falling and my heart aches. Maybe you guys already had an idea why, and yes, it was because of Miriam Defensor-Santiago. I might kinda expect her to lose but I did not expect her to be the LEAST. She has done a lot for our country yet her fellow Filipinos choose to ignore her just because she’s sick. I also hate the fact that she tried to court the Filipinos thrice yet she was rejected. I know the feeling of giving everything you have yet you’re getting the same thing over and over again.
Anyway, no matter how much I speak here, the results won’t change. I want to congratulate Mayor Duterte, first. Please, prove me wrong. Prove US wrong. (Please bear in mind that I am not a hater.) I hope you will be able to do your responsibility as a president and we will promise to do our responsibility as a citizen. We will support you and we will hold each other’s hands for this country.
To MDS, (I am trying not to cry, okay) I am pretty sure that you’ve heard this a couple of times but even though we change the shape of the earth, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST PRESIDENT THAT WE NEVER HAD. It’s our loss, not yours. You have given more than enough, it is US who lacked. I really thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving and serving this country. You might be the last in the results but you will ALWAYS be the FIRST in our hearts. We, especially the youth, will continue what you have done to improve this country. I love you, Madam. We love you. You are one of a kind.

PS: I am not saying that just because you didn’t vote for Miriam, you’re dumb. I respect your decision. It just really saddens me on how SOME people tend to throw a qualified candidate easily just because of his/her health.
