It’s raining again, & Sora’s in a reading mood (I like how her eye markings look like glasses, hehe).

So, I don’t have much of a mind for science (I share Ansy’s weakness to numbers lol), but I do find it interesting! Sora could probably tell me everything I’d want to know about meteorology (she’s originally from Hoenn’s esteemed Weather Institute after all), but for now, here are some things I’ve found helpful for the casual weather fan 🌧️

The book she’s reading (“Cloud Spotting” by Pocket Nature) is a good start: this is the first weather book I owned which combines cloud facts with mindfulness. One fact that’s been on my mind lately is the fact that most weather happens only 7 miles (11.2654 km) up - mind blowing when people drive more than that in a day! I guess one way to think about it is “something that looks out of reach might be closer than you think” ☁️

NOAA (National Weather Service) - Stands for the “National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration” the best place to follow the forecast in my country. While certain folks would like to limit this resource, it would be a great disservice, especially with Hurricane Helene currently blowing through the southeast (& I just learned might reach me a little with some storms - thanks NOAA!). ☔️

MinuteEarth - An offshoot of “MinutePhysics” (quick animations teaching physics stuff in a way that even I could follow!), MinuteEarth teaches bite-sized lessons on earth sciences, including weather, & sometimes Pokémon cameos! Some of their fun rainy videos include “How Mushrooms Make it Rain”, “What Came First: The Rain or Rainforests?”, & my personal favorite, “Why Doesn’t All Thunder Sound the Same?” (if you watch it, look for Zapdos!) ⛈️

Minute Earth including Hestu in this tree graph added a few minutes to my lifespan.

1) What’s your favorite book/series? Sapiens - Yuval Harari. Very concise overview of the world we live in and how humans play their part in it :) 

2) Do you have any unused/empty journals/notebooks? Ummm probably close to 20 (-.-’’)

3) Out of all the sciences (natural, social, and formal), which science do you feel is the most important for the general public? I mean the specific ones, (i.e. biology, statistics, anthropology, etc. but you’re not limited to these options) That's very hard to say, all sciences are important to the public because it is the public who benefits from their advancements. Traditionally difficult sceinces like physics and chemistry are still as important, however possibly not as accessible. I really don’t know!

4) Do you have any unique study methods you use? If not, what are ones you swear by? I dont think I have any unique methods, just dont fall behind. GO TO CLASS. Mindmaps and key points are a good way to summarise the important information.

5) Do you like watching documentaries? If so, which kind? Nature documentaries. I mainly watch youtube channels such as CGPgrey,  SciShow, CrashCourse, minutephysics/minuteearth, kurzgesagt if I want to learn anything.

6) Are there any classes/subjects you’d like to learn? I wish I took French, creative writing classes, classics and European History.

7) Do you like dancing? Too look like an idiot? yes. 

8) What’s your favorite piece of stationery? (i.e. pens, binders, flashcards, etc.) My fineliners and gel pens :3

9) What do you think of math? Is it useful to you or are you just bored by it? Statistics is very useful for my biology courses, maths is boring to me because I do not have a good knowledge of it but I do respect how important it is for life.

10) Do you plan on returning to your high school/college after a number of years? To say hello? Or to teach? I would hate to teach, but I might go back to visit my art teacher.

11) What’s the story behind your username? I am a science student who loves to sleeeeep!
