Trucy Wright has never been good at social media. She once tried to run an official twitter account advertising her act, but got too confused and distracted and so gave up almost immediately. Texting she can handle. Phone calls are a little more difficult and for some reason make her a little nervous, but she'll usually pick up. That day, however, she did not. She heard her phone ringing, of course, but was too busy raising virtual money to build a virtual town (Animal Crossing had always been very dear to her and she has spent far too much time playing it) to answer. When she finally saves her game and glances idly at her phone screen, she's horrified to see she has one (1) missed call from Pearl Fey, her long distance girlfriend. She's even more horrified as she listens to the message left behind, which plays, "Hi Truce! Hope you didn't forget I was coming down to see you today, haha! Just got off the train! I'll be at the station waiting, see you soon! Hope you hurry though, it looks like it's about to start raining." Pearl's static chuckle fills the room as Trucy lets her phone fall to the floor. It is, in fact, raining, and Pearl is, in fact, visiting today, and not tomorrow as Trucy had somehow started to believe. She drops down, and checks her phone, seeing that almost an hour has passed since Pearl left her that message, and feels sick. Jumping down the stairs, and hoping her dad's boyfriend will trust her enough to borrow his expensive shiny red car when the weather is this bad, she calls Pearl back, feverishly. "You forgot it was today, didn't you?" Pearl sighs instead of greeting her. "I lost track of the days!" Trucy explains, indication to Miles Edgeworth she needs his car through a symbol of hand gestures. "I've been busy with schoolwork." With a frown, the keys are thrown to her. Pearl sighs and says, "Don't worry, don't worry, it happens to the best of us. I would have thought Mr Nick or Mr Edgeworth would have reminded you though." "They have a lot on their minds," Trucy is trying to work out the quickest way to the station, and is hurrying to the car as fast as her legs will let her. "You know, law stuff." "Law stuff," Pearl agrees. Trucy slides into the car and hangs up, after the two exchange several "I love you"'s and other such sentiment. Trucy is a careful driver. Not by nature, but by the thought of her father having to apologise for the damage done to his boyfriend's car on her behalf. She'd hate that to happen. In addition, it's raining, and she's barely just passed her test and is probably the worst person to be out on the road in this weather, so she takes it slowly. She can hear her Driver's Ed teacher telling her not to become another statistic as she turns. When the station comes into sight, she sees, standing outside, a single figure, who's hair, usually tied in two high buns, now hangs dishevelled down her back, and who's robes are dark and waterlogged. Oh God, Trucy thinks, resting her head on the steering wheel after pulling up beside her, if only I'd gone over when she called. Pearl sits herself down, dripping wet, in the passenger seat. She says, "Trucy, get your head off the steering wheel. I told you not to worry about it. Besides," she smiles coyly, "you can make it up to me by taking me out to dinner tonight."
