What I learnt about asking God for daily bread
This article was from a mini message I shared at Hope City Church in 2019. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Introduction What I want to share today is on the subject of Daily bread and devotions. Honestly it was a surprise to me when I felt led to write this, because for a while before my internship I had stopped doing my morning devotions. The bible verse for this message will be taken from Matthew 6:11 which…

Let's just try to remember that it doesn't matter how much experience you have in life, other people have different experiences than you do. Your point of view is not the only one, nor is it necessarily objectively correct.
Proverbs 26:15 "the sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth."
The dish in this verse more than likely has food which provides nourishment for the body, but the person is too lazy to eat it. Why is that? The food is there and his body needs it. It's only beneficial that he eats. Why won't he eat? He's lazy. He doesn't want to. It's too much work for him.
Does that sound familiar? Has God provided you something but you're too lazy to take it? Is it too hard to do? But it's only beneficial! In fact, you're hurting yourself to not do it. Nourishment help the body to grow and stay healthy. What God has provided is only there to make you grow and stay healthy. So what is our problem when we don't take advantage of what God has given us? Either we are trying to do it alone (that's why it's hard) or we don't see the food as nourishing due to other sources.
If it's too hard: look to God for strength, find accountability from someone, and pray continuously. Pray before attempting to eat the dish. In doing so, God is your source of strength. Find someone who will ask you if you're getting your nourishment and be honest with that person.
If you see other sources: take a step back and look at your options; if God is giving you one in specific, it takes priority. The dish God has placed before you has more nourishment and value than any other option. Why? He wants you to grow. Does junk food heal your hunger? Yes! But healthier food will help you to grow and stay healthy.

Christianity is so weird.
It's so simple, yet it is so complicated. All you have to do is trust God as your Lord and Savior, but there is a myriad of rules behind it. It says that God controls everything, but that we have free will. The Bible says love everybody, including your enemies, but it also says that homosexuality is a sin. The Bible says that people drank wine like it was milk, back in the day, but drinking is frowned upon (Baptist belief). The Bible says that God turns his face away from sin and we are all sinners who are bound to go to hell, but all we have to do is ask for forgiveness. *mind explodes*
Ephesians 5:
“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. 25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, l without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. 28 In the same way m husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself." Not only does the bible say for Wives to love their husband, the bible also says for Husbands to love their wives. Do not be slaves of the Medici any longer, good citizens!
Purge yourself from this poison! Seek the one true God and he will seek you!
Do not let yourselves be deceived! There is no promise of life under his rule--but there will be glory in the heavenly realm of the Lord! Only there will you witness the glory of God!
Come, drink in the knowledge of He who is worthy of all things, He who is our Father, our Great Creator! Repent and forgive and He will surely forgive you.
You cannot find a greater love in this world. Come, turn away from your former selves! Cleanse yourselves, pray--this means your very life!
The Medici will be your damnation--and the Lord, your salvation.
