Hi! I was reminded by your fake video share virus post about a similar situation that recently happened in a community I'm in. I figured I would mention it as I dont recall you posting it yet and havent seen it in your index. It's a bit unique though and the average tumblr user is usually NOT a target of something as elaborate as this, but malicious Minecraft mods/modpacks do exist and many people don't know about them.
TL;DR: a large creator, Poiyomi, got their accounts compromised by downloading a malicious Minecraft modpack on Discord from a "friend of a friend"
It took place a few weeks ago. Their Google, patreon, and discord accounts all got compromised (i watched their hacked discord message in their server in real time) but luckily they were able to get them back. Also none of the content they created seemed to have been interfered with thankfully, but the opportunity was there.

The lesson to be learned: be cautious about downloading modpacks from other people. It's hard to recover from a token-stealing attack like this because it bypasses 2 factor authentication. Also keep an eye out for reports of compromised Minecraft mods where malicious code is injected into the mod itself. This isn't the first time this has happened and it won't be the last
Sorry for the wall of text, but I thought this might be an important story to bring to ypur attention. Thanks for what you do!

Hi there @javenchi! No need to apologize at all!
In fact, I greatly appreciate walls of text like this explaining situations, so other users know what's going on with scams I haven't covered that users like yourself choose to bring to me, and so I can properly understand it myself without having to go digging for information when I'm not part of that community!
As someone who used to play minecraft (sadly I don't anymore) avidly and had been playing it since 2014, I can 100% understand the dangers of malicious mod packs and .jar files that people can share online. Especially those that show up on google via sponsored searches that aren't even from safe let alone official websites. :(
Here is a video about the dangers of malicious Minecraft modpacks, and I've also included another video below that shows some old modpacks that have had malicious code tucked away in them.
Stay safe and always download your mods and modpacks from verified developers!
