Be True To Yourself
These past couple of months have been really good to me. But in the time, I really reflected on the decisions I've made, people I let go, and a lot of the time I questioned if I made the right choice. I really struggled in my own thoughts. But everything happens for a reason. and one day I’ll look back and realize that I needed to be alone in order for me to grow and be a better me. I’m more than sure I will. It’s just the time in between that's hard to see the positive side. I came across this one poem in this new book I started reading. This poem called, “Be True To Yourself”, opened my eyes. I must live in the present because there is always a greater purpose to everything you do in the now. The past is the past and you can not do anything about it. Just learn from it because there WILL be new and better opportunities. The important part is just to realize and acknowledge the wrong you did so that you may learn for your future experiences. Life is truly about going through difficulty and learning from it.
“Reflecting is essential, but regret should not ground you in the past. It should make you grateful that you have a conscious mind that realizes what is right and wrong. it should give you strength to wisely use your present to make your future better. It should free you. If you don't stop judging yourself, putting yourself down, believing that this is as good as you can be, then you’ve closed doors for yourself before they even appear in front of you. You’ve become a slave of your past.” - Najwa Zebian Mind Platter
