Oh, Phoebe. Weird and wonderful Phoebe. No Friends episode would be quite the same without her sly and bizarre commentary. Although Pheebs is known as the gang’s kookiest member, there’s always been the sense that she’s slow-playing us all, her mind pinging and ponging around an enlightenment just out of our reach. Perhaps she only seems strange because we haven’t caught up.

Case in point: her closet. Quirky and occasionally incomprehensible (see: Santa Pants).

  Its contents may have never received the same mass adoration as Rachel Green and Monica Geller’s trend-driven ’90s ensembles — rife with pleated miniskirts, ribbed turtlenecks and 501s — but they came from the firmest point of view. Unlike the other two girls who adjusted their clothes to match the times, Phoebe’s outfits were rooted in an unwaveringly secure sense of self. Throughout the show’s 10 season tenure, her look changed the least. It was a masterful display of deeply realized personal style ahead of an era that celebrates it; the makings of a Tommy Ton photograph before fashion blogs existed. In short, Phoebe is a shining example of how we should get dressed: Only and always for ourselves.

  So today, and every day, really, let us channel Phoebe’s devil-may-care attitude when it comes to clothes. And if that doesn’t work? Try this!

Well, obviously not the turkey on your head that Joey had (Although it could work amazing for a crazy Halloween party).

Phoebe Is a Pro at Wearing Vintage Finds. In fact, she would rather go and buy her clothing in a thrift shop than going to a fancy brand clothing store.

Her unapologetic bohemian style is what makes her special, and though we (all?) love Rachel, Phoebe is actually the most daring dresser of the group. She's never met a print or color she wouldn't try wearing.

The costume designer of the entire “Friends” TV series was Debra McGuire, and for sure Phoebe was one of her most challenging tasks to accomplish.

“The clothes were much more expensive than they looked”, says Debra.

Unfortunately, there is no source of the brands she used, but apparently, most of the clothing came from expensive New York and London boutiques.

Nevertheless, we like to believe that Phoebe as a character is “second-hand” kind of girl and that she’s not afraid to wear well, just about anything that looks fun!

And even though we loved and still love Phoebe, it seems like Phoebe hated everyone (Well, at least her friends from “friends”) (Except Maybe Joey).

At least she seemed like to like Joey ... unless he was trying to learn guitar from an actual teacher instead of her own coo-coo methods.

Some of the other members of the group threw out their noxious behavior onto others. Phoebe dumps it all on her supposedly best friends. Phoebe's friends were constantly there for her. They comforted her when she gave up the triplets she birthed, supported her through her many devastating break-ups and her unbelievable family drama.

Stopped talking to Ross for a week because she had a bad dream about him.

Regardless of all this, she is actually the most stable adult of the entire main cast! Phoebe has a hobby and a skill! She plays music while the rest of her friends’ loaf, lounge, and whine. She has values! She believes in animal rights and has a deliberately pacifistic worldview. All in all, Phoebe has character. She has an air of agency, maturity, and capable independence that none of her friends do; in fact, she might well be the only healthy, functioning, normal adult of the lot of them.

Now let us all get an Aura cleanse, even though Ross (visibly) hates it...
