"Just look, what do you see?" The man asked softly and put his hand on the girl’s shoulder, guiding her to look in one direction.
"I see nothing" the little girl seemed flustered. They were standing in the middle of the woods, there were trees, there were rocks and plants, and a lovley red flower standing tall next to the long oak tree. But not where she was looking, they were standing at the edge of a cliff, there was nothing to see.
Kyle then said “that’s because you don’t look, not realy, not at whats important”
The girl seemed even more flusted by his words and the guy noticed it “sure i see the cliff, but i also see the other side of it. Look how beautiful it is. It has flowers, and a nice pine tree that is still growing from the size of it. It has a blue butterfly sitting on one of the flowers. And if you look closly on the oak tree, right next to the butterfly, there is a nest there—”
The girl inttrupted enthusiasticly “there’s a bird”
"There’s a life" he was quick to correct the tiny girl.
The exited expression turned quick into hopeless. A sad expression filled the girl’s face. ” you will be back will you kyle?”
The guy bended down and leaned on his knee, he turned her around and looked into her eyes “it’s just a small opporation, it’ll be fine.”
"That’s what dad said" she then hissed.
They stood there for few moments as the truth slowly and painfuly found his old wounds.
He then rubbed his sister head and wincked “sorry sister, you’re stuck with me”
He tried to smile. For her. But inside, he knew better.
The girl’s eyes filled with tears as she hugged her brother tight “dad said that too”
