What he spotted surprised him, but its appearance was in keeping with the rest the of the wretched cutesy things in this universe, so he wasn't too surprised.

And par the norm, two Egg-Pawns flanked behind him for protection. His foot was met with wet grass and a burst of fresh air smacked into him like a freight train; he had stepped into a stretching valley, in the dead of night no less. The only thing that permitted him to see was the endless blanket of stars overhead.
