Gnostics. Itâs just Gnostics all the way down.
Possibly the best thing, along with its companion piece Reality Honks Back, that I have read in some time. And just as I'm reading about all the millennials sterilizing themselves at the behest of the modern-day Malthusians, this pops up on my browser newsfeed
I. The study of end times is referred to as eschatology.
Eschatology â The department of theological science concerned with âthe four last things: death, judgement, heaven, and hellâ.
This is a much debated topic among professing Christians.
Errant views on eschatology are very dangerous since they influence the political policies of our government, both domestic and international.
II. Different beliefs regarding eschatology.
1. Â Â Â Historical Premillennialism
This is the belief that the Second Coming of Christ will precede the millennium.
This belief is summed up by the following:
Also known as Chiliasm from the Greek word for âthousandâ.
The millennium is a literal 1000 years.
The Second Coming of Christ, which begins the millennium, happens after the tribulation.
The resurrection of Christians occurs at the beginning of the millennium, the resurrection of the unsaved at the end of the millennium.
I was working with 13 year olds at summer camp and they were chatting on the bus about how much stuff they brought with them and one guy was like "that's too much baggage man" and the other kid yelled "that's what my therapist tells me every week" and they started hi fiving, wtf gen zs come get your man
Our Generation
People may say we're addicted to screens, living in some fictitious world without consequences or hard work. They think we're lazy, unmotivated, weak, whiny, sensitive... But we're only kids. Perhaps we were waiting for the day we stopped being kids. The day when we were finally in a position to do something about the mess of a society we live in. But we've been rushed, and suddenly we have to speak out now. It's our jobs to communicate to people in power just how much they're screwing things up, when some of us can't even vote yet, or pay taxes, or be considered significant members of society.
And we're not being listened to.
And that's a mistake.
Because we're the only generation who have truly grown up in the real world, the way things are now, with terrorist threats and mass shootings and melting ice caps and plastic filled sealife being the norm.
We aren't stuck in the past, lost in the nostalgia of a time where people had money, had jobs, had houses, affordable education... Safety. We see the real world, our normal, and we're looking around saying 'this isn't ok'.
It's not OK, to be afraid going to school.
It's not OK, to be afraid going home.
It's not OK, that it takes a nature documentary to show society what we've been trying to tell them for years.
It's not OK, that their only solution to tragedy is a sorrowful tweet, before the medical bill comes.
It's not OK, that a certain body type can be 'fashionable'.
It's not OK, that we're expected to clean up the mess we were born into, to be pressured and expected to rise up and be the saviour generation, when all we're trying to do is have fun and live in a world they ruined.
We saw how ugly the world could be before we even left school. Some are still living through trauma while in school.
We're criticised and put down and ignored... But they need us. We are smart. We are savvy. We are thoughtful. We don't let people hurt us.
And we'll show them. One day. Either we'll get through to them now or take over in twenty years, but we'll get there.
So, whether you're strategically waiting or taking charge, know that your opinions and thoughts are valid. You deserve to be heard.
And you will be.
Don't underestimate us.

I. Jesus Christ began reigning on Davidâs throne when He was resurrected from the dead.
It was prophesied in the OT that the Messiah who would proceed from David would assume his throne and reign from it forever (2Sa 7:12-16; 1Ch 17:11-14).
According to this prophecy, the following would happen:
The coming King would be a descendant of David (2Sa 7:12).
The King and His kingdom would be setup and established when David was dead and sleeping in the grave (2Sa 7:12).
The King would be the Son of God (2Sa 7:14).
The King would build the house of God which would be associated with His kingdom being established (2Sa 7:13; 1Ch 17:12).
The house of God and the kingdom of God would be established forever (2Sa 7:16; 1Ch 17:14).
Jesus Christ fulfilled the prophecy of the messianic King Who would reign on Davidâs throne (2Sa 7:12-16; 1Ch 17:11-14) at His first coming, particularly at His resurrection. Letâs look at each part of the prophecy.
I. The setting up of the millennial kingdom and the reign of Christ on Davidâs throne.
The kingdom of God/heaven was set up by Christ at His first coming.
The kingdom of God was prophesied in the book of Daniel to come in the days of the Roman Empire.
The kingdom came right on time.
Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had a dream in which he saw a great image with a head of gold, breast and arms of silver, belly and thighs of brass, and legs of iron and feet part iron and part clay (Dan 2:31-33).
In the dream a stone cut out without hands smote the image in the feet and broke them in pieces, destroying the entire image, and then the stone became a great mountain that filled the earth (Dan 2:34-35).
Danielâs interpretation was as follows:
Nebuchadnezzar and the kingdom of Babylon were the head of gold (Dan 2:37-38).
After Babylon another kingdom would arise, which scripturally and historically is known to be the kingdom of the Medo-Persian empire (Dan 2:39 c/w Dan 5:28-31).
After the Medo-Persian kingdom another kingdom would arise, which scripturally and historically is known to be the Grecian empire (Dan 2:39 c/w Dan 8:20-21).
After the Grecian kingdom another kingdom would arise, which historically is known to be the Roman empire (Dan 2:40-43).
In the days of the fourth kingdom (the Roman empire) the God of heaven would set up a kingdom which would never be destroyed, but would break in pieces and consume all the kingdoms and would stand forever (Dan 2:44).
