20: A song that has many meanings to you

Oooh, a tough one!! 100 Years by Florence + The Machine has been rattling around my head for several weeks now. It was written in 2016 post, you know, everything, and there is SO much to dissect in it. Every time I listen to it I latch on to another lyric. the meanings really do range from “it’s time to speak up about injustice even if that means heads will roll” to “despite pain and rage and indifference, the sun will rise again” to “I’m literally gonna kill you I’ve been waiting a hundred years to rise up”

I mean, just listen. “I believe in love/ and the darker it gets, the more I do.” “Women raged as old men/ fumbled and cried, ‘we’re sorry’/ ‘we thought you didn’t care’” to literally just “hubris is a BITCH.” Fucking masterpiece of a song.

1.  When did you read your first fanfic and what fandom was it? Have you written for that fandom as well? 

(I answered this one previously, so I hope it’s okay if I copy paste c: ).

I read my first fanfic when I was probably in the 8th or 9th grade? It’s been a while xD But I was in love with Star Wars at the time, so I’d be on the family computer, using the dial up, waiting for scrolling pages of fan fic to load and what a time that was xD I have never officially written for it, aside from some fan fic that I wrote in notebooks as a kid, but after Star Wars came my Final Fantasy obsession, and that was my first fic c: 

2. What’s your approximate fanfic/original works reading ratio?

Oh boy I wish I knew. Most of my original “reading” these days are audiobooks that I use to cope with my work commute xDDD It’s hard to say, but I definitely read-read more fanfic than I do original works :’)

12. Explain how you felt/your reaction at the end of Brotherhood.

i was like,,, nearly in tears i swear ;-; i remember feeling sooo overwhelmed and happy that it ended well and wrapped up so well but i also remember being sad it was over lol. it was rly the first show that i ever got so attached to which i think is partly why i joined the fandom so quickly after finishing! i honestly wish i could experience the feeling of watching the last couple episodes again because they are just... wow 13. Explain how you felt/your reaction at the end of the original.

not gonna lie i honestly did not like it very much lol. i’m not really a fan of sad/ambiguous endings and i think i was sort of disappointed since i saw it right after i had watched brotherhood ;-; ed being separated from everyone made me sad and the whole archer bit was.... Something. i did think the music/cinematography was very cool though! i definitely preferred the first half of 03 to the second, though, and while the last opening song is AMAZING i really wish the show had lived up to my own expectations :/
