Isora is essentially a trans man. I don’t know much about Japanese’s view toward transgender, so I’m curious about how that ties to Isora.
Also, there are some similarities between him and Mikura. Both were born as women and later identified themselves as men. The only core difference is that Mikusa disguised herself to protect herself from Harunawa. Isora was forced in a role as woman he doesn’t conform to, and wanted to be a man, but he lived in an unfortunate and imperil time period with strict gender roles.
In hindsight, Isora was angry that he went through unfortunate experiences and betrayal, something Mikusa never has to go through.
I'm glad Kannagi rejoined the group as quickly as he did but also I feel like we were denied some quality content of Yataka being the sole adult in a group of fifteen year old kids.
