Here's a sneak peak at what I'm working on for the last day of the #midsummernightartchallenge set by @legendarylynn and @oliviafaust.art . Its going to take me a few days to finish this one. Really into the last prompt 'Autumn is in the Air' and I'm fitting in loads of tiny details yo this cottage scene. . . Still so much to add. What animals would you like to see in the cottage? I'm deff adding a Fox. And some sort of bird will be pecking the cake by the open fire (her nest is on the mantlepiece with eggs in) . . Planning on doing a coffee wash and adding all the colour on top. DAY 11 #midsummernightartchallenge . Plating catch up again, just got one more drawing left for this challenge now. The challenge was set by @oliviafaust.art And @legendarylynn . The prompt for this one was 'Your Sun Sign'. I'm a June baby with a cancer sign. . I don't hold much stock in star signs and their meanings , but I do find them interesting to read up on. . Cancer is a water sign, crab. Lucky gems include ruby and pearl. Flowers orchid and white rose. Spirit colour purple. Top love matches Taurus and Pices (fun fact I married a star sign who I'm meant to be incompatible with) . Cancer are ruled by the moon and in tune with the rhythm of the earth. Yesterday's prompt for the #midsummernightartchallenge is still work in progress but here it is so far. . . The prompt was Mystical Creatures, and the challenges were set by @legendarylynn And @oliviafaust.art . . The gist of it is there's an inventor and his pet dragon is a homemade hot air balloon. They're pretending to be the moon so they can get in close to catch some other enchanting creatures so they can save the city below... I'll give more story when I've finished this off and fathomed it all out. Here's yesterday's illustration for #midsummernightartchallenge 'Garden Gate' . This challenge was set by @legendarylynn And @oliviafaust.art . I might come back to this one... It's so almost what I had in mind... yet still not quite there . I did however write a wee story to go with this one... . . . Deep in the forest, if your timing is just right, you'll find a garden gate. I won't tell you how the stars must align, nor which hour the gate will appear, for I fear you will go searching. -Though it looks enticing, nothing good lies beyond that gate my friend. From our side, if you gaze through the intricate iron, the most beautiful garden can be seen. I'm told the garden takes a great many forms, changing depending upon the tastes of the gardens latest victims. I lost many years to that place. You see, once you have entered, there is no visible exit. Time flows strangely. Pathways twist and turn, never leading to the same place twice. If you aren't eaten by the foul creatures that haunt the walkways, or poisened by the villainous plant life. If you aren't driven mad by the fear, the long stretch of time, your own loneliness... if you manage to cling to who you are, to remember your mission... perhaps you'll be fortunate enough to stumble upon a way out. Yet it's much more likely you will loose yourself. Day by day. Little by little. Less of you will survive. Before you know it you too will be one of those prowling creatures.
