fdhasfdhaf YEAH listen i started it as a continuation of this drabble from the other night and i don't know??? if i will continue it that way because then i wrote at the kitchen table and now i'm thinking about a possible sequel to that and eddie's pov on how buck feels about maddie leaving and??? anyway i am a sucker for buckley family feels. here is the beginning of the original fic that may or may not see the light of day:

Maddie leaves and Buck’s heart goes with her.

He’s not—angry, exactly. Or he’s trying not to be. It’s more like—LA is their home, now, more than Hershey ever was. He falls asleep to the city lights cascading like fireflies through his loft window and finds comfort in the lazy sprawl of streets, criss-crossing like veins around a beating, bustling heart. And they were building something, Maddie had built something, and Buck—well, he’s trying to.

His hands don’t shake so much, anymore.

Only it’s just—

Maddie left for college when Buck was ten and he memorised the phone number to her dorm and called her on weekends when their parents were out of the house. It was the only number he knew that wasn’t 9-1-1. She always sounded happy down the line, chattering about her hall mates and the posters she’d put up and her stats professor with eyebrows so bushy they stuck right out from his face, “like Gandalf,” she’d said, because they read The Hobbit together last fall and there was still a dog-eared copy, somewhere, in the hurricane mess of Buck’s room.

When she’d moved to Boston with Doug Buck was fourteen and called less and less but he knew a lot of phone numbers now and hers was always one of them. And even when he did call, and she didn’t answer—or he’d call and she would, but her voice would sound strange, all sticky and choked like honey gone bad—she’d call him back when Doug was at school or work and it didn’t matter how long it had been since they last talked, because every time it was like a piece of Maddie was right there in the receiver, jammed against his ear, and as long as Maddie was there Buck wasn’t alone.

favorite fic you wrote this year

um apparently i wrote 76 fics this year??!?!?!!?!? no wonder i'm tired

i have many honorable mentions, but my number one favorite fic that i wrote this year is a three-way tie between heaven is a place not too far away (twylexis), we'll get together then, dad (alexis & johnny), and in her brown eyes (the ones she gave to me) (ruth & her mom). music and familial angst!

any new fics to start next year

demiromantic alexis rose + twylexis

the ruthie 'stevie brings ruth home to schitt's creek and ruth has complicated feelings about race as a result' fic i've been talking about for ages

the twylexis same-sex dancing with the stars pro/professional pairing AU, a la jojo siwa and jenna

the rose donuts (instead of rose apothecary) david/patrick + twylexis au

more of the marvel schitt's creek universe!!

alexis has a very obvious crush on twyla but won't do anything about it. twyla decides to gently, mildly, sweetly seduce her

one of them's a podficcer and the other one's a fic writer, OR one of them's a podficcer and the other is the very surprised listener AU (for ruthie and/or twylexis)

1. Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

My current project is @sctropefest so I don’t want to give toooooooo much away (spoilers!) but I will say it’s progressing... not as fast as I’d like but I’m still confident(ish) I’ll make it by the deadline, and what I love most about it is that it’s something I’ve had in my head a REALLY long time and it’s so satisfying finally putting it on the page! I’m very, very hopeful y’all will love it as much as I do.

2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project

Some future kinkverse installments are 👀👀👀👀👀 for sure 😉 

3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)

Oh gosh, I’m not actually sure I have one, sorry! I don’t write full-on AUs that often so will often just write little snippety scenes that are canon-compliant/post-canon and post them without any context anyway.
