One of my friends recently mentioned she never heard of Tumblr,which honestly surprised me, because she is not living in a cave...

The most important thing I have to mention is that Tumblr is a micro-blogging site that is nicely twisted combination of a traditional blog,Notcy and Twitter.And it is free.

In fact there are no length restrictions on Tumblr posts, but the culture of the site encourages quick, but short updates, and many users stick to this format. The common features that make Tumblr stand out is that the shared information is divided by its type: Texts, Photos, Quotes, Links, Chat, Audio, and Video files. Tumblr can be your your bookmarking place,your diary, your mood board, your megaphone, your portfolio, your magazine, ... almost everything. If you think about starting your own blog or just to enjoy your time spend in various communications with interesting people, then Tumblr is for you. The things I personally like in Tumblr are: rich diversity of the posts and various content for everyone,has large number of different niches ,the very specific microblogging culture which is a mix of individuality and originality,the easy way for interaction and communication and few other things which I'm missing in Twitter, for instance.The Reblog option in Tumblr though is nothing different than the Retweet one in Twitter. Similarly to Reddit or Digg, Tumblr is another virtual place where people with common interests and vision meet, sharing stuff and talking to one another. As mentioned earlier Tumblr has an excellent user interface (UI), which really helps the users and fantastic community that sets it apart from other sites. That’s it. If you keep that in mind, you’ll have a fun and worthwhile time on Tumblr.
